Hi all  Has anyone stayed at the Contemporary Resort? I've always wanted to stay in a tower room with the view of Magic Kingdom and watch Wishes from my balcony, or leave my curtains open and watch the castle change colour. Hubby and I have been starting to plan our last minute September trip (yay!) and we want to do 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel, 10 nights at Pop Century and spend the last 2 nights at Contemporary. Any info would be muchly appreciated :D

Many thanks,

Anz :earsgirl:

Only stayed in the garden wings I'm afraid - but those stays were really magical!

You can't keep away from Pop Century Anz!! :) :)

As to the Contemporary, I've never stayed there but imagine being able to see that view of the castle from your room!! Wow!

Hello Anz

There is a (very) long thread on the Contemporary resort on the Disney Resorts forum, you might want to look at that. Now I haven't read them all, so it could be it doesn't contain the info you want. I also remember reading (in a thread about being upgraded) about rooms with great views at the Contemporary. It did make it sound really special.

Thanks muchly for that, I've just had a nice long read of it :yo-yo:

Contemporary sounds good doesn't it? If you do go, you must try the California Grill for great food as well as great views - not cheap but worth splashing out on. It's on my list for my next visit - along with Chili's of course, which I now can't wait to try (are you on commission? :p )

LOL I wish I was, I'll have to have a word with the manager when I go back ;) I'll definitely be trying the California Grill too, it sounds great.

Is it just me or does the Contemporary look really old and stuck in the 1970's when you go through it on the monorail ??

I would love to stay in the Contemporary - wow, Chef Mickey's every morning for breakfast! And imagine opening your curtains in the morning and seeing the castle. Sounds great Anz....!!:D

Yes - but that's part of the charm for me :)

Contemporary when it was built.

Well, I'm pretty sure that somebody has stayed at the Contemporary. Otherwise Disney would be wasting a lot of space with all those rooms. ;)

OK, serious now. When you book your trip, be sure to book at tower room and request an MK view at the time you make the reservation. The views of the MK are great from any room on that side of the hotel, so don't worry about specifying a particular floor (although higher is usually better) or end (although North would be slightly better) of the hotel.

Caution. I've always found the contemporary to be "cold". Be sure to bring a sweater with you.

Jeff

Thanks very much for the reply, at least I know where to ask for. Just waiting for the AP rates for September to come out then we'll be in business ;)
