Contemporary Questions

I will be going to the Contemporary Tower for the first time in Sept and I have a few questions:

Is the smoking floor still the 8th floor?
Has that floor been redone yet? Which floors are done?
I have requested Magic Kingdom view but of course I may not get it. What is the view like from the other side?

The smoking floor is still the 8th floor.

They started the renovations on the top floor and are working their way down.

The Bay Lake view is wonderful - no cars/parking lots and you see the pool area and the very beautiful Bay Lake. We don't mind getting that side at all - in fact sometimes we prefer it.

The Bay Lake view is great...at any other place, THAT would be the preferred view...you are looking out at the pool, then the quiet pool, then the beach and the lake. You see the boats coming and going to WL, you see the Electric Water Pageant. And if you're up early, you can see the sunrise over the water. I think it's a beautiful view.

Thanks for the replies. I am really looking forward to this and I guess I won't be too disappointed if I don't get MK view.

I'll be there a week from today. One of the reasons I didn't specify a view preference is because the view is so great from either side of the tower. I'd almost ratehr watch the boats and the sunrise from the Bay lake side, as well as the beautiful sunrises.
