We're due for a change. We've stayed at Coronado 3 years in a row and then concierge Poly for 2 years. Have never been at Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge.
Any suggestions?
How is the concierge at these hotels?
Would appreciate all suggestions

Last May my DW and I stayed at WL concierge and it was wonderful. Randall, one of the staff, took excellent care of us and made sure our 25th anniversary celebration/vacation was the best one ever at WDW.

WL is a great resort -- close to MK and in the heart of Disney, but it feels like it is miles away. The rooms are somewhat smaller than the average deluxe, but then the rate is somewhat less, too.

There's lots of recreation activities. The EWP comes by the beach area. You can take a boat to MK; buses everywhere else.

We loved sitting in the open lounge area on the 7th floor of the main building -- looking out over the lobby. Awesome!

I highly recommend WL.

(Have to admit this though: for our next trip we are seriously considering the Contemporary 'cause we've never stayed there! :teeth: )

I have stayed at both!! Loved them both!!

If I had to choose between them, I'd take WL. I think it's better for kids. It has a kiddie pool which CR does not.

Which ever you choose, it is very easy get to the other. There is a small boat which makes a circle between CR, WL & FW all day. We stayed at WL a couple of weeks ago & dinned at Concourse Steakhouse (in CR) a couple of times. We also ate at Trails End in FW. The boat made it soooo easy.:boat:

I'd rank the transportation about equal between them. WL has a boat to MK, buses everywhere else. CR has a direct monorail to MK, buses everywhere else. (Except the small boat circle I described.) To get to Epcot from CR, you have to take the monorail to TTC, transfer & take another monorail to Epcot. I found that a very lllooonnggg ride. The direct bus from WL to Epcot was much easier. WL also has a direct bus to TTC.

I could go on & on about the pro's & con's of both resorts. But I don't know who "we" are and what you like to do. Please feel free to post more specific questions or PM me. I'd be glad to share my experiences. :chat:

I will let you know this, we will definently stay at BOTH resorts again. We want to stay in a tower room overlooking the lake, but probably not till our dd is a bit older & can swim in the large pool (no kiddie pool). WL just cause we LOVE it so much!

Tough decision!!!! But with these 2, it is very easy to stay at one & "play" at the other!! :lovestruc :goodvibes

My kids are not small (14 and 16-boys) so I don't need the kiddie pool.
So if I stay at Contmporary I would want a Tower room?
What if I stay at WL?
Did you stay concierge?

We stayed in the north garden wing. Our room was abt 1/2 way down. It was very quiet. We had a perfect view of the fireworks from our room.

Tower vs. Garden - I think it's personal perference. We've stayed in the garden, so next time we want to stay in the tower. We like to try different things. The garden wings each have a coin laundry, the tower does not. The north garden is closer to the bus stop.

We did not stay concierge at either. There are lots of posters here who have stayed concierge at WL. I'm sure they could give you lots of great info.

For older kids, either resort would be fine. I think it will be a matter of personal perferance regarding the "themeing".

Thanks for the info.

What type of room were you in?
Yes, we stayed concierge, but we had a room in the Villas (a 1 bedroom with a kitchen). We had an extra card to access the concierge floor when we wanted to. The Villas rooms are terrific -- we had a woods view which was great.
