Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge?

My family and I usually stay at the Polynesian, but with all of the renovations are looking for another hotel for the end of this summer. We are having a hard time deciding between the Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge. For those of you who have stayed at both or one or the other, what are your thoughts?

Both awesome, but totally different. Look at decor pictures and decide. The pool at WL is better than CR. If you have younger kids, the bunk beds are always a hit. The WL pool is my favorite for the 5 and under set (nice, easy slide they can ride 50 times in a row without missing a beat).

That being said, BLT is my favorite (usually stay there on points vs. CR), and the ability to walk to/fro MK is pretty fabulous. More modern/sterile design which is offputting to some, but I remember staying there as a child (nostalgia), and am a fan of modern design.

So...you have picked two of my favorite resorts. I would also argue that BC/YC (I prefer YC) is the top of my kids list currently because of SAB. It is wonderful. Also, you have that extra daybed in most rooms, giving you some extra breathing room (have that at CR, but not WL).

There is talk of a pool renovation at WL. You might want to check the WL FAQ thread for info on the pool rehab/closure before you make a decision.

Wilderness Lodge for sure, we have stayed at both and love WL. CR is like any other Radisson, Hilton, chain hotel theming wise, it just happens to have a monorail going through it. Pus we love the boat rides to the MK from WL or you can take a boat to CR if you want to catch the Monorail.

If you have younger children I might suggest WL. I stayed at the Contemporary when I was a child (MANY YEARS AGO) and found it to have as another reader said a "Sterile" design.

With that being said, now that I am an adult, I am planning to stay at the contemporary in 2015 just because of the convenient location.

I'm pretty sure wilderness lodge pool will be under construction along with the stream that goes from the lobby to the pool I think that would take away from the feel of wilderness lodge
