OK-- I know that this question comes up alot... but I CANNOT decide!!!! I've always wanted to stay in the Tower at Contemporary, but I fell in love with the Poly when we ate at O'hana's--- The Poly is a little cheaper, but is the Tower that more convient to the MK?...and I'm going with two 9 year olds and a 1 year old. I just think it would be so great to just walk out of my hotel and right onto the monorail.... PLEASE HELP ME DISNEY FANS!!!!!

also, we're going in December---Christmas time? which one is decorated better????

Thanks, friends!!!

Just think of it like this,

What appeals to you more - the busy city feel of the CR, or the laid back tropical atmosphere of the Poly?

I think being able to stay in the tower is an experience alone.

Can you do both?
They will transfer luggage for free

We love the CR. We'll be staying there for the 2nd time in Sept. I know people love the Poly, but, frankly, we have no desire to stay there. We just don't like the mutiple buildings.

Which ever you choose, you'll have a great time!!::yes::

We stayed at both this past April and glad we did. Two very different experiences, both very enjoyable.

We stayed CR CT last summer...and loved every minute of it! We have always enjoyed the CR tower. It's MAGICAL, and was Walt's favorite. The futuristic feel...the walks back from the MK in the eve, the views...the 24-hr arcade....Calif. grill/Chef Mickey's/Concourse...and the shops! I just enjoy the entire place. I even adore the cone~shaped bushy trees in the parking lot...all decorated with the white lights. We loved viewing the castle at night, as it changed colors...and just the sounds of the park/monorail/etc. It will always hold a very special place in our heart. The Poly is great too...but just lacks some of the "MAGIC" (IMHO) of the CR. ;)

We've stayed at all the monorail resorts many, many times. Each has its own appeal. We have stayed at the Contemporary more times than the Poly or GF and have a trip planned for Sept/Oct this year. We've stayed in the wings and tower (have 2 rooms booked this time in tower) and we've had water view (the pool) at the Poly several times and lagoon view at the GF.The reason we stay at the Contemporary more is because for our family (myself, husband and 3 grown daughters) it works better for us.We stay in the tower because of the monorail (husband has had total knee replacement and does not have use of his leg and knee the way he did when we stayed at the Poly and GF).There is so much to do in the main Compemporary building that he can get around better with less walking. If he doesn't feel up to a day at the parks then he can watch boats on Bay Lake or do alot of things that does not have alot of walking to it.We always go back to the Poly and GF for some of our meal, but the monorail in the main building where we stay is the main reason. Really you can not go wrong with any of the monorail resorts,I'd stay in any of them if it was just me and our daughters.Check out the resorts on line and see which one fits your needs, for us its the Contemporay, for others its not, just pick one and get a good rate and have a good time and be happy just to be at WDW.

Sorry to add this on but I wanted you to know that we have nothing but good things to say about the Poly and GF too. Each is very different from the others but our stays at the Poly and GF were great also, the Contemporary just works for us now.Have a great trip and remember not everybody agrees on which resort is better, you need to see which one fits for you.

I am a Polynesian fan. I love the walk through the resort especially at night when it is very peaceful. The plants and flowers are beautiful. I could take rolls and rolls of pictures here. The staff is very friendly, several times they have offered us rides on a golf cart like thing. To me this is both a family and romantic resort. As you can tell my vote is for the Polynesian. :goodvibes

The poster who wrote that the Contemporary feels like "a big city" and the Polynesian more laid back is correct. Which one you prefer depends on your mood. Since these were the first two resorts built on property, Disney purposely designed them to be as different as possible.

I don't think you can have a bad experience staying in either one. I love them both for different reasons.

Have you considered splitting your stay?

Thanks for all the posts!! WOW! I really think I'm going to try the CR.....maybe next time we'll do the Poly--- it looked really pretty with all the tropical plants and water fall. It's just the idea of being able to see the castle out my window, ahhhhh!!!

by the way, do all the tower rooms have balconies???

Yes. All tower rooms have full-size balconies.
