Contemporary Garden Wing Questions

Does anyone know if the rooms in the CR Garden Wing have been recently refurbished? If so, when was it completed? I'm finding conflicting information on this. Also, is there a problem with the bathroom sinks at the Contemporary?Some people have mentioned that they don't drain properly. I can't believe this would be the case in a deluxe resort. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Not sure about reno details but I think the sink issue everyone talks about is due to the style of the sink not any plumbing issues.

The sinks are essentially flat slabs & only about 2 inches deep so they can only hold so much water at a time. It's a design element that is more fashion over function.

The Garden Wing rooms were refurbished at the same time the tower rooms were. It's been a few years ago - I don't remember the exact dates.

We stayed in a Garden Wing room and enjoyed it. I'd like to stay at the Contemporary again sometime.

As far as the sinks - just like the previous person said, they are square and shallow. That caused the water to kind of sit in them longer than a normal sink. It did get kind of annoying sometimes but not so bad that I wouldn't stay at the resort again because of it.

I recall staying in the tower in '05 and we still had the old décor, I believe that the major renovation was already occurring though. The North garden wing was demolished in 2007, I do know that from another board

They started the renovations in the wing building in 2005. We were there in July 2005 and they had torn up one wing of the building at that time. We were in the unrenovated room and thought it was fine then. Very large, very quiet.

I really miss the old North Wing! My girls spent their early childhood years there, we didn't stay in the tower until 2005.

I thought I read that they are currently replacing the bedding/soft goods at CR but not a major rehab. I think they might have started with the garden wing.

I really miss the old North Wing! My girls spent their early childhood years there, we didn't stay in the tower until 2005.

Disney has a problem with both AKL (too far away) and CR (the wings) until they let DVC have them. Now AKL still will upgrade you. but have not heard of many getting CR standard and upgrading to the tower - which they did before BLT.

In all of our CR stays through the years, never upgraded there unti lI booked Atrium Club MK view and they bumped us to Tower Club MK view 1 bedroom suite. GF, YC, pretty much every time. I guess that one upgrade was my big blow out!
