Contemporary Food & Fun Center

Can anyone give me a review of the food here? What's good for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Any pictures? Is this where we use the refillable mugs? Thanks!

The fun has already moved to the 4th floor, and the food is moving also in July (the center will be closed down at that point). I am not sure what type of menu will be available then or if it will be just a temporary place for a while. (there will be a nicer restaurant downstairs eventually).

The Food & Fun Center closes on July 30th. There will be a temporary quick service location on the 4th floor near the Outer Rim Lounge. Chef Mickey's Express, the new quick service location, will not open until August 2008.

And there you have it! I don't keep up with every update, it's drive me nuts. I actually hadn't seen the "Chef Mickeys Express" noted, that is a long time to have a temporary - 1 year! - quick service location.

Yes, it is a long time for a resort as large as the Contemporary. The new 1st floor restaurant, The Wave, is not scheuduled to be completed until either March or April 2008. Once its open for business, the Concourse Steakhouse will close and Chef Mickey's Express (CME)will be replacing it. The tentative completion date for CME is mid-August 2008.

I'd seen several updates, but not about CME. Originally, I thought that Disney was supposed to close the Concourse and expand Chef Mickeys into it (not an express, just the regular restaurant). After my last dining experience there, I don't think they have enough staff to keep up the salad bar/food the way it is though.

The Wave I'd heard about, but for some reason I was thinking it was the fast-food restaurant. I need to get these names straight! I did know they were closing Concourse and then moving a new restaurant there. That is a lengthy rehab, but I bet it's going to be great. Except for the Food and Fun Center being gone, but that is more something from my teen years (it was the best hang-out place!)

Thanks. I do try to keep up - but between rides, hotels, and restaurants - so many rehabs and rumors, so little brain capacity!

There's been conflicting rumors regarding Chef Mickey's Express. Some rumors indciate that Chef Mickey's will be expand into a portion of the space occupied by Concourse Steakhouse with the remaining space used for CME. There are other rumors that suggest that CME will take over the entire space occupied by Concourse Steakhouse. I guess it will be August 2008 before we know for sure!
