I know the boards post this kind of crap all the time, but I heard this one with my own 2 ears. While walking to the escalators in the contemporary, I passed by the dvc stand. 2 supervisors, 1 sitting, 1 standing, were talking to the person behind the desk. The supervisor said " The north wing is closed, and we will be a expanding to be vacation club, but that is not released to the public". I know what some of you are thinking, the same thing I would be. Who is this joker, and how would he overhear this? All I can tell you is that I heard it, and even wondered myself. I guess the North wing is closed though.

You will never hear me say you are wrong, I just know what I heard. If you know the North wing is open and housing, maybe so....I am just relaying what I heard. I live in Ohio, so admitedly I only know so much. Just letting eveyone know what I heard, as factual or not as it was.

The DVC will expand and soon. SSR is nearing sellout and they will need a new property to continue sales. The have no sites along the prized monorail line. SInce they have already used hotels in conjunction with DVC, such as WL and BC, there is no reason to believe they won't do it again. Besides being highly rumored for a long time, CR is also a logical spot. My guess is this will happen sooner than later

I reported on another thread that we took the DVC tour last week while staying at the Contemporary Resort, and our guide confiirmed that they would be building DVC units on the property next. He also stated that next in line was the Poly.
If you watch the in house DVC channel on your television it actually shows a scene with a family walking throught the concourse pointing up at the monorail as it passes by, before moving on to scenes of other DVC resorts.
It only makes sense to add these units to existing properties if the room and the demand is there. They are already testing family suites at the All Stars, and look how well the additions of the DVC worked at the WL, BC, and BW, all Epcot resorts.

I have a co-worker who is married to the son of the man who is the contractor building of SSR and has been told he will be the Head contractor for several more jobs. In fact, this gentleman, yes I know his name but will not release it, is currently not on Disney property at this time. There are two other sites he is working on that are on the other side of the state and are non-Disney related. He has been told that there are more "jobs" when SSR is through, but even he doesn't know the next "spot." I put a buzz in His daughter-in-law's ear to see if it was the CR, and she spoke to him recently and he still does not know the location of the next one. Now I know you are thinking, You are in Tennessee how do you know his daughter-in-law? Well, he and his family are originally from here in east TN, and his sons still live around here. So yes, I can know one of his daughter in laws. I hope it is the CR and have been bugging my co-worker every week. When she tells me, y'all will probably already know. But just to let you know, the contractor of the next DVC project, has yet to be told where the location is.

Where is 1000th happy haunt and why is she not sharing what she heard from the DVC when she was at DL over New Years? Hawaii is one of the rumors out there (that she heard).

We recently stayed in the North wing. They were still refurbishing the South wing when we were there. I thought the refurbishment was supposed to be done by now. Maybe they've decided not to refurbish the North wing in favor of DVC construction. :thumbsup2
