So, we added a night to the beginning of our upcoming reservation at Contemporary. I ended up having to call in and add a “garden view” room to our “standard view” reservation. The CM l spoke with was very helpful and said she’d merge the reservations, but that we’d have to change rooms after the first night.

id be willing to stay in the cheaper view room,if It meant not having to move after only one night. Would you go to the front desk at check in and tell them this? Call the resort directly?

if they are unable to accommate us, do we just pack up our luggage and leave it at the front desk after one night and they’ll move it to the new room when it’s ready?

The standard views are probably sold out the night you tried to book. They will probably assign your room before you check in, so call the reservation phone number or front desk to see if there is an option to switch to a standard view.

If they can't, a bellhop will move your luggage. Call from the room phone when you're leaving for the morning, and they will put your bags in your new room while you go to the parks.

You will need to speak to the front desk when you check-in for your first reservation. If they cannot accommodate you, yes, leave your luggage with bell services and simply call them or stop by when you get your second room assigned. You can either get your luggage yourself or have bell services deliver it to your room. We had to do this at CCV a few years ago. It wasn't fun, but it worked out fine and was certainly easier than moving to an entirely different resort.

Yes, that was the issue. When we added on the day, there were no standard view rooms available.

Wait until closer to your trip, or see if Disney announces more availability. Right now Disney is only booking about 50% of hotel rooms due to Covid capacity limits, but they might open up soon.

If you don't find one online before your trip I would ask at checkin. IF they have the availability to do so they will.
