Contemp DVC models are ready!!!

.... along with ZekeKelso and yourself!

But now I'm curious: if you are staying in the CR, can you hear or feel anything when the monorail goes through the building?

We've stayed there a few times and have never heard, felt or smelled the monorail. Not that the monorail smells but I thought I would cover all the bases :)

Well, I can't comment on the amount of noise the monorail makes inside the Contemporay rooms ... only stayed there when I was about 12 and didn't pay much attention to things like that :) !

However, as to possible dates for BLT ... I was speaking with my guide yesterday about adding on some points. We currently live in Nebraska and that is one of two states that they are not registered in so it might take a bit of hoop-jumping to make it happen through the mail. We were talking about some possible options, since we are military and have residency in another state but it will probably be easier to just wait until we visit WDW this year, even though I don't want to take up valuable vacation time conducting business! :rotfl2:

He then mentioned that they were "days away from selling out SSR so don't count on having any of those if we wait" but had plenty of AKV points. I told him that we didn't really care which resort we bought since we were only talking 50 or 100 points, all I really cared about was getting our same use year. He then paused and said, "Well, when it gets a little bit hotter I might have something else to offer you ... when are you thinking of heading to WDW?" I told him end of June and he just paused and then said, "Watch your mail and call me in a week or so ..."

So, nothing "official" , but I did want to add my belief that the Contemporary DVC is right aroud the corner! :cool1:

Have a great day! Jennie

Actually, Poly was open on opening day. The third that DVCconvert might have thought of was Fort Wilderness, but like you said, that's not a resort, and it opened six weeks after the other two did, but that might be close enough to count. :)

At least as far as I know...

As far as I can recall, TWDC has called FW 'the Fort wilderness resort & campground' for more than the past 30 years.
I believe it officially opened on Nov 19th. (which I agree is 'close enough' ;) )

I can also add that on opening, Bob Hope & Lucile Ball were amoung the guests of honor staying at the Poly.
:goodvibes

Hi. Another non-official but encouraging conversation - called my guide to be sure we were on the "call asap" list when BLT is announced. She said, officially, that there's no indication that a new resort is coming available. Said it would be a conflict of interest, blah blah blah. I told her I understood :)

BUT she's also a DVC member. And she said, speaking member to member, I hope we hear something soon, AND she said, we'll probably speak again by mid-summer :cool1:

That would be cool!!

While reading this thread I kept hearing the music from "Mission Impossible". ;) Hopefully someone can get some pictures of the model (such they agree to accept that mission :tiptoe:) and put them up before our next trip.

Will the CR BLT DVC's have their own pool like BC DVC's and AKL DVC's have ?

Maybe I can convice DH to buy in.

The only reason I do not believe this , is the statement of topping any DVC room to date . DVC will never build another resort with rooms the size of OKW hence no DVC will ever have rooms better than ever. DVC realizes they can get more bang for the buck with smaller rooms.

No room can ever top an OKW 1BR or 2BR.

Yep, I totally agree! We love both our homes, but I love OKW the most. It still feels more like home to me, and isn't that what a timeshare is?

yea CR and Polyn were the only ones on opening day. got a book about Disney and it includes the guys working on the CR the day and night before opening.

seems like they finished at 8am that morning...

yea the original plans had 2 pools one include the C - shaped like Mickey mouse head - the other outside the C - in the area between it and the south wing.

this is not a little pool - or it wasn't then.

all DVC resorts have their own pools - VWL and BWV do too, OKW and SSR have several pools.

I really don't need more points right now:lmao:

who say anything about need.

it is definitely WANT IT!:rotfl:
a dvc resort on the monrail.

the monrail use to make noise - but they now have white noise. You don't really heard it unless you go someplace immediately.

in the wing, okay BLT, it is far enough away not to be bothered. at least I don't think so - it wasn't a problem in the south wing. but they are connecting BLT to CR - so some noise may come with that - but not enough to get that far.

believe me after walking thru CR - we will be very, very happy to go to BLT.

Well maybe it's just me, but I think the monorail does stink!!! Maybe it's all those sweaty bodies but it has a distinct smell to me that I don't like at ALL!

I think they are referring to the actual monorail (not the inside of the monorail).

Oct.... I had heard from my DVC guide that the may be on sale as soon as June
any one else hear this????
my guide still denies it's existence:rolleyes1 and any waitlists for being called to puchase:confused3

i am a very light sleeper, we had a MK tower room on 7th floor (as i recall); it's more of a vibration than a noise. A wonderful way to wake up in the am, followed by Chef Ms coming to life:goodvibes

i predict sales will commence anytime during the span of our vacation 6/24-7/3; and be sold out prior to our return:rolleyes1 it would never happen that fast...would it:eek:
