Anyone have any updates on the renovations at CR? Is the arcade still up? DD's love the arcade! What about all the other 4th floor renovations? Chef Mickey? Fun Food? etc...etc...

A Cast Member told me in the Sundries store that the new store being built should be finished by the 1st week of December. Looking at the recent pictures of it I would say they are on track of completing that. Once it opens there will be no more construction on the 4th floor until April 2008 which is when the Concourse Steakhouse is set to close. Besides that the only other renovation going on is turning the Food & Fun Center into the Waive, but since the entrance to there has been walled off no one can see the renovations taking place.

Stayed there on Saturday night. They have opened a quick service option next to the Outer Rim, although I didnt look at the offerings to see if there were hot options like burgers and hot dogs that the Fun and Food center had. The new gift shop being constructed on the other side of the Concourse is coming along nicely. Its kind of an eyesore to see this brown wall all the way around, as it was nice and open before, but it should be nice when completed. The lobby was also undergoing a rehab as the area behind the elevators was walled off also. In addition, the lobby restrooms were also closed.

Otherwise, our room was fantastic. I've heard a lot of bad things about them, especially the bathrooms, but we loved them.

Is it true, I have read on here that there aren't refillable mugs available at CR with the CS restaurant location change? I love getting my mug for unlimited refills and will be disappointed if it is true. We will be staying there for the first time December 19-21, 2007.

When I was there this past August a manager of the Food & Fun Center told me they do not have the right equipment to have a soda machine on the 4th floor for the temporary cs location.

I guess I'll have to survive on the MK View without my soda, Oh Well. I will just get one at AKL on Dec 21.

Well it's only two nights so you won't have long to wait.

If you're really desperate for soda what you could do is either purchase the YOAMD mug at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian and get drinks from there and you can use the same mug when you check into the Animal Kingdom Lodge, since both Resorts are a Monorail ride away it's something to think about.

I visited there again last week while on the monorail and really, I think its my least favorite Disney resort. I feel like I'm in a dark office building or going to go see the doctor. No Disney feel at all. If I didnt see the monorail or the Chef Mickey sign, I would think I was trapped in some bulky concrete office building. The rooms may be nice, but I just dont like this resort much at all.
