May have to fly out earlier then expected , is a day or two enough for the airline to accommodate a peanut free flight?? I know I can't prevent others bringing on snacks with peanuts ..

Depends on the airline. I only know about southwest and accomodations can be made the day of the flight. You just have to physically check in at the airport and tell them at the desk, they will mark it in the system and let the gate agents know. When you go to the gate you tell the gate agents again and they give you a blue pre board sleeve. You also receive other documents that say peanut allergy and those are given to the flight attendants.

It's the same procedure on every SW flight and honestly, no advance notice is100% necessary before the day of the flight......it just makes it easier on everyone to know ahead of time.

We do both. We use EB check in because preboard is only me plus 1 other person so we do EB to make sure that the people not preboarding still get A boarding numbers.

What we do is check in online and than when we drop off the luggage we go to the full service counter and have them reprint my boarding pass with the additional peanut allergy documents because you can't print those out at home.

Are you only allowed to pre board with the child with the allergy and not your whole party , I ask because it will be myself my 5 year old with the allergy and my 11 year old daughter?

Are you the only adult? If so, I am pretty sure they will let you all board. If there is another adult, probably not. It all depends on how many preboards there are. When I flew in November there were 8 wheelchairs and 4 other people for preboard so they were strict about only allowing 1 other person on.

But I don't know for sure. But as a whole, SW has been very accommodating so if it's just the 3 of you, I can't imagine they would actually say no but since an 11 year old can travel as an unaccompanied minor I can't say with 100% certainty that it will be allowed. I would call SW and ask.

Yes it's just the three of us , one adult two kids

Okay. I would say that most likely all 3 of you will be able to board.

Also, if they won't let you all board, several gate agents have said it's okay to save seats for someone joining your party further back in the line.
