Am trying to go without my progressive glasses and go the contact lens route and have never worn contacts before now.
So for about 10 days I tried contacts for distance only and had to use reading glasses for anything up close. The problem with this is that the readers would only be good for anything close up and after that I had to rely on the contacts but those were for farther away, so there was this mid range that I couldn't see. Like when working if someone asked me to look at their computer I had to get real close to it to see it clearly with the readers and with the contacts alone I couldn't read it. Also I'm trying not to wear glasses and having to put readers on and off while at work was driving me crazy.
So I'm going to try monovision contacts. So for those who do this, how long did it take you to get used to them?
I was told to only wear contacts for 10-12 hours a day, so there will be some time that I will need to wear my glasses to see clearly or the occasional day I choose to wear the glasses instead of the contacts. Also take my child to an early morning sport practice and I won't be putting the contacts in before that. So when you don't have your contacts in, do you wear progressive glasses and is it difficult for your eyes to adjust from the contacts to glasses and vice versa?
