Contact info on a child

We leave tomorrow and I am nervous about my 3.5 year old son getting separated from us in the crowds. I'd like to make sure that if the worst happens, cast members can easily find us. I am thinking of getting a lanyard for him and putting a paper in the pocket with our cell phone numbers on it. But on the chance that he won't wear the lanyard, or loses it, do any of you have other ideas? Maybe pinning a piece of paper with our cell phone numbers into his pocket? Thanks in advance!

I used to put a piece of paper in my kids' shoe with my cell number on it when they were little. Also, I always snapped a quick picture of them each morning on the way out the hotel room door - just so I could quickly see what they were wearing if I needed to. It's amazing how quickly you'll forget something like that.

These are a few ideas I've seen posted here:
*temporary child ID tattoos
*write the phone number on the childs arm w/permanent marker
*get a "dog tag" engraved at walmart with your cell # on it, pin it to the childs clothing.
* write cell # on tape and stick it to the childs back.
*Whos Shoes ID that velcros to the child shoe (I bought this from mypreciouskid.com, which also sells the temp tattoos and other types of child id).

we went with the dog tags and put them on our kids shoes...we still use them for when we go places with lots of people around.

Also take a picture of them each morning, just in case they get separated, when you get to the park so they can see what the child was wearing that day. After a few days the outfits all tend to blend together.

Yep! I think the easiest thing is to write on their arm with a sharpie, and put your first name and cell phone number. Quickest find!

Thanks for the thread. I leave next Saturday and have been also wondering how I'm going to have ID info on my children. I did buy some ID bracelets off of totsafe.com
I looked through a few different sites and this one is the closest to me in Michigan so I'm hoping they will arrive before my trip. Otherwise we may just have to buy some dog tags for them at Walmart when we get there.

I do dog tags on keyrings attached to shoes, I also add disney charms to make them fun. Don't forget to teach your kids, to find a CM ( show them the nametags) or a mom with kids if they get seperated. Also role playing and having them point to thier shoe, many kids start crying when they get seperated so teach them to point.

May I suggest simply for safety reasons, not putting the name and phone number on the arm, but on the small of the child's back and making sure the child knows it is there?

Our kids have metal dog tags - you can get them at most Army Navy Stores. These can then be attached to the shoe or attached to a bracelet or worn like a necklace.

First Initial and Last Name. (No first names.) And Cell Phone #.

I used the round badges that you can make yourself. I got them in the craft section of WalMart. I used Disney clipart to decorate them w/ a character.

We use the Whose Shoes ID's. We write our names (mine & DH's) and our cell #s on the tags. Info is not visible from the outside of the tag.

I know I've read in the past to write cell # on a piece of paper and put it in child's pocket, but if the child gets wet on a ride like Splash or Kali, that piece of paper may not be legible after getting soaked.

When I took my goddaughter last January, I wondered the same thing. Her mom gave me a sharpy and told me to write my cell phone number on her. She can't get separated from it that way!
