Construction question for those who might know

We are thinking about adding a 8X16 room on to our house. We were going to do it ourselves but DH figured it would take too long....so I think we might just hire the subs ourselves....

Question 1
If I hire a company to do the foundation (simple block work). Would they also be the people that remove some macadam that needs to be removed? Or is there a different type of contractor that I would hire?

It really depends on your contractor. Some only want to do certain things( like plumbing, electrial, masonry), and others can do everything. We had a 2nd floor added to our home. I hired one man, who subcontracted what he and his men couldn't do. It was all included in the quote we had signed.
