How bad is construction at Wilderness Lodge right now? We have never stayed there, but the rates for next week are phenomenal! We are booked for Ft. Wilderness cabin currently, but we could add a day and save money by staying at Wilderness Lodge.
What would you do?

What are the rates? I think I would have to save bookoos to stay there right now.

If you could add a day and save money, it wouldn't matter how bad construction was to me! :rolleyes1

We were there two weeks ago, and hardly noticed anything! Yes, you could see where they are building the villas, and you could tell that one wing was being worked on (you could see through the balcony windows). One of the elevators was blocked off, but covered up so that we didn't even know it was there at all. We never saw any active construction!

I know some of the amenities are closed due to the construction (I"m not sure which ones), but the pool, geyser, bike rentals, etc. were great!

I would definitely stay here!!!

How much savings are here? I was seeing around $330 a night for next week. Is that a really good rate here?

Hmmm. I always look at the price since Disney is so awesome even with construction. Do WL. You won't regret it.

We were there last month. Yes, there was dirt and construction below our balcony, but it didn't bother me a bit. And I had to point out the boarded off section of the lobby to DH, so it wasn't that noticeable. Our stay was awesome! Due to the trees being cut down, we had a castle view and watched Wishes from our room. It was near the other elevators, so having the lobby elevators out of commission didn't affect us either. And of course having less people at the resort makes it better at the pool, dining hall, and buses.

Agree with the PPs- we stayed in the Villas last week and were not bothered. Yes, you could see (and hear) construction during the day happening when walking between the Villas and the lobby, or when at the pool. But, IMHO, it was not bad. The pool was not crowded. Transportation was running smoothly. We did see construction in the parking lot, so if you have a car that could be a little bit of a hassle. If it's a good rate, I would do it!

We just got back a few days ago from an amazing stay there. We were in the main lodge and could see construction from our balcony but that never bothered us a bit. We loved the fact that we could see parts of the Magic Kingdom and the fireworks at night while sitting on our balcony. With half of the main building closed, nothing seemed busy at the resort. It was just so peaceful. We had such a good stay, we are now considering buying DVC points there when the construction is done.
