Hello Disers! We have plans to stay at the GF July 4th (2 adults 2 teenage girls) should I be concerned with the construction? Is it an eyesore? Im not sure what to expect. Thanks all!

Every time you walk through the lobby, or near the back of the main building by Gasparilla Grill, you'll see some workers, some walls, and some less-than-magical construction materials. If your room is close to and facing those areas, it's possible you might hear some construction-related noise during the day. Otherwise, the rest of the resort should look beautiful.

We're visiting in August, and although I would love it if we got to experience the Grand Floridian for the first time in all its glory, I don't expect the construction to have an appreciable impact on our stay. I'm just grateful it's not expected to shut anything down (restaurants, pools, monorail, walking path again).

You can find information, as well as pictures, about the current GF construction on the Grand Floridian Thread HERE. Work is currently being done at the Main Building and should still be in progress during your trip.
Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for your in-depth information. This is good to know.

Hi - I’m arriving on Wed and will be there through Sun. Happy to update you. In a resort view room the first night (unless I can change it) and TPV the rest, so I may be able to report back best on noise from the room the first day.

We moved to Beach Club because of the construction, but being able to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the resort might make it worthwhile to be there anyway.

That would be great! I really appreciate that. Thank you!
