Construction at Poly question

Hi, if we can get it, might stay at Poly this May for 1 or 2 nights renting points through a friend of mine. If I remember correctly, the new Poly building is far away (closer to GF) from the DVC studios, am I correct? Thanks!!

You are correct, that is where it will be. It won't be open by May. I believe 2025 is the target year (although that may be 2024).

It is people in the regular hotel rooms that are complaining about their construction views right now (understandably. We just had to look at the new DVC tower construction from our DL Hotel room in September). The price of progress, best to avoid that if possible,

I'm glad you asked this! We are planning to stay at the Polynesian resort in May as well, so I was wondering similarly.
That said, we're going over my birthday / Mother's Day, so we're debating splurging on a bungalow after arrival night (we'll still do a Lake View Studio the first night). Is construction impactful to those staying in the bungalows?

I thought that's where the construction was on the opposite side of the DVC building. Stayed at Bay Lake once when they were doing construction on the contemporary, wasn't a pleasant view from the balcony, or the noise-I've never paid much attention to the construction, but after staying at BL, I'm more aware of it. No, the bungalows are on the same end of Poly as the other DVC buildings, completely opposite end of Poly from construction.
