construction at CR *does* affect Chef Mickey's!

We just returned from a wonderful 4 night trip to WDW, staying at BCV. We usually have breakfast at CM's each trip...we just love that place! The food was as good as always. No, it's not gourmet, but it is fresh and plentiful and there are lots of selections.

Our ADR was for 10:50 but we arrived at 10:30. We have always had good luck getting to our restaurant a little early and getting seated before our ADR time. Not this time! We were not seated until 11:20. Due to the construction at Concourse Steakhouse, they had the section nearest there closed, and cloth draped over the tables because of the dust flying. There was a faint scent in the air of drywall, and also, there was the sound of table saws cutting. Fortunately, CM's is a loud place so it did not affect the dining room very much...it was more annoying the 50 minutes we were waiting for a table.

Anyway, I think having that small section closed affected the wait times. I would not cancel an upcoming reservation because of the construction, though. It was a minor nuiscance.

WE were there for breakfast in late July and the construction was going on and our wait was long too. I think mainly because I don't think they have all of their seating area right now maybe? When we were in the lobby area waiting the construction was very loud. I didn't really notice it once we were seated.

Does anyone know when the const. will be done or at least move away from CM.

Sometime between late Oct and Dec is the projected completion. From what I understand that is the last of the indoor renovations. BLT is still being built next door and the pool renovation starts in Jan I believe, but both are outside the main building.

Yes you are correct about that.

Also if there happens to be construction of the Contempo Cafe it will only happen during breakfast hours, because the construction workers are gone for the day sometime in the afternoon. So anyone with ADR's at Chef Mickey's for dinner won't be effected.

We ate breakfast back in Aug and had no problem. Everything was great. I do love this place . You really had a long wait to get seated.
