Construction at BWV

Are there any pictures available of the new lawn at BWV (replacing old red building) or the old DVC Sales office... it must be all complete by now.

If pictures are not available, can someone advise how everything looks. Are there villas where the DVC Sales Office used to be (on the first floor of the Boardwalk)?

The work is finished now. We were just there in early October and it looks great. But I didn't take a picture. I was there last April and took this picture of the area while it was still under construction. This is where the red building was that is now a croquet lawn:

Thank you... what about the area next to Big River Grille, where the DVC Sales Offices were. Are they renting the rooms on the first floor. Is there a fence or some protection from the Boardwalk. Thank you for your replies

The rooms next to the Big River Grille are ready. There is a fenced-in patio area with trees and shrubs for security and privacy. The first unit next to the BRG is an Open House unit and is not fenced-in like the others.

Are these units (next to Big River Grill) considered Boardwalk View? If the shrubs give you any privacy don't they block your view? I don't think I'd like one of these units - Are they mostly studios? 1 br's?

Don't know the size of the units. The landscaping still allows for a BW view, but because the units are so low I would think that there would be less ability to see panoramic views or fireworks.

We will be at BWV in March. I can't wait to see all the changes... Our last visit was in April 05 and both areas were still under construction.

I would assume the First Floor Villas next to BRG are Boardwalk View. You are right jekjones, the great from the BW will not be so good from the first floor rooms.

Just returned from BWV. I did not go inside the new sales office on the BW. And have to say that I would NOT want a room on the same level as the boardwalk. No privacy. I'm not sure if they are actually rooms to rent or not. Now that I think about it, there are NO rooms on BW level, only stores and eateries. There would be no view of any fireworks from that level.

We had the "preferred" view of the main pool, only because I waited too long to make reservations and could not get the standard view, which I prefer. People screaming in the pool until after midnight...not acceptable.

Would like to add I am a DVC member with over 300 points, points at BWV, BCV and SS. And just returned from a week of great weather and Wine and Food Festival at Disneyworld. I've been reading other posts of people claiming they got extra fast passes because they are DVC members. I've sent an e-mail inquiry to the DVC peeps and am awaiting their reply. Will be peeved if I missed out on anything!!!

The ugly red building is gone at BWV and a very pretty lawn is in its place. Did not see anyone playing croquet (prolly costs a zillion to rent the stuff). I really love BWV.

chickie 56... don't know much about how to post pictures, but it is good to hear that that old red building is down and the crochet lawn is pretty. We don't like the pool view rooms very much... prefer standard view!

I've been reading other posts of people claiming they got extra fast passes because they are DVC members. I've sent an e-mail inquiry to the DVC peeps and am awaiting their reply. Will be peeved if I missed out on anything!!!

This is sometimes given to DVC members or perspective members who take the DVC tour. It's not a DVC perk.

I have refused a first floor at the BCV, too.

I don't want to stay in an area where other people can look in on me....
