We just booked a seven night vacation at AKV Kadani Villiage. I have read that this section of the resort will still be under construction. If anyone has been there or has any inside information as to the impact of the construction, I would appreciate it. Also, is the AKV all that it appears to be?

I believe the plan is additional construction at Kidani would be finishing the interiors of the units farther from Jambo (Current main building), but the exteriors should be finished by opening.

Of course you are dealing with construction schedules on high-end finishes on custom construction. I was there (this sept/oct) for a week and a half and watched (from time to time) a crew of 6, working 6 days a week take the entire time to place wood "lattice" on top of 2 cone shaped roofs near the new lobby (that already had plywood decking on) I believe that lattice existed just to provide breather room for whatever wood shingles or thatch roof material they were using for the finish material. If that crew only had to install cheap asphalt shingles they would of had the roof finished on day 2

My Jambo experience was absolutely wonderful. Seeing animals from my room and public areas, the mysterious, but calm detailing of the public places (gave me a bit of a poly feel), the good restaurants. You just can't describe it well enough. We went because we thought the animals might be entertaining, and enjoyed them and a lot more!

There will still be some construction in the unopened section of the building. I made a reservation last week for 6/14-20 and member services mentioned that there may be construction noise. I think by then it should be mostly interior work in the unopened section (scheduled to open in September).

We will be staying at AKV 8/9-8/18. Is there any particular floor that is the best?

I'm assuming that you are asking about Kidani. I don't think that any of us really know the answer. My guess is that I would refer either the 2nd or 3rd floor so that I could be closer to the animals.

This may sound crazy but are there different animals in the different areas of the resort? Are there are better rooms for viewing the animals at different times.

Nope, your question isn't crazy. Some of the animals are only on certain savannahs. For example, zebras are not on the Uzima savannah.

It is true, there are no zebras on Uzima - but we always had plenty of animals to watch. There were several giraffes (some toddlers and teens) which were fun to watch. You can see the zebras from the viewing area off of the lobby!

Well, according to the show they have on the disney DVC channel at WDW, they had metioned something about new animals that havent been at AKL/V yet, and that the way they are set up, they may ever rotate them from time to time, so they arent always the same (perhaps they do that already?)
