hi ,just wondering if anyone has upgraded from a moderate to deluxe hotel at disney, i have booked for POFQ for 2 weeks next july but am thinking of upgrading to Wilderness lodge, has anyone done this ,do you do it direct with Disney, and how much approx for cost

As Amyrlin says, it depends who you booked with. If you call Disney (but booked with a TA) then they will not be able to help you. In fact, you will probably not be on their computers yet. You need to contact the company you booked with and enquire about changing your reservation. If you did book with Disney, then it's easy - just give CRO a call and they will let you know the details. :)

yeah , i am booked with Virgin for next july 5th to the 19th july in the POFQ, wanted to see what prices where for WL , Virgin Looking £1500 for the upgrade, thats £500 each, found some prices on allears for next year POFQ for the 2 weeks was $139+ tax and WL was $205 + tax this worked out about £500 for 2 weeks extra as they charge you for the room , seems Virgin charging this each, which i think is a bit much

I think, and I may be wrong (but this is what happended to me in DLP a while ago), they will let you upgrade when they get there if theyhave rooms, but you will have to pay te difference in proce between the amount paid by Virgin to hotel and the rack rate for the room you want. This will be more than the difference between the two rack rates as Virgin will be getting a discount.

It is likey you won't be able to do anything about this until you get there, as you won't show up on their computers until a week or so before you leave, but it sounds like it would be cheaper than doing it directly through Virgin, as long as they do have a room. (If you do this and are a member of the AA take the car with you as it may get you a discount as well).

amyrlin, i am a member of the automobile association here in the UK, is this what you are talking about when you say AA, and thanks for the info will be at the RPR for my first week so will contact Disney or call round to WL and see what they have available, will be there on my Birthday so decided to treat myself hopefully to a deluxe hotel if possible, thanks again for the info

DD and I upgraded from POP to POR, during our last stay. It was very, very easy to do and the CM said people upgrade or change resorts all the time.
We did`nt dislike POP just love POR.
POFQ is a beautiful resort, enjoy whatever you decide to do :sunny:

thanks merylj, glad you had a good time and love the resort.
i am looking forward to POFQ, but just thought if my finances are ok, i would treat usto a deluxe stay, as i cant envisage us staying on site again as the cost from here is very expensive

My first trip i was booked thru a uk travel agent for PO, and decided i would rather stay at WL. I changed my ressy to Fly Drive - had to pay a small penalty, but it was cheaper this way as I was able to get annual pass rate for the hotels. It is worth costing out doing it this way though.
