We’ve been tossing around some ideas for dates to go to WDW for our next (2nd) trip. We thought about 19-26 Sept 2009 and 12-19 Sept 2009, but now DH is suggesting 29 Aug-05 Sept so that the kids don’t miss school. Am I crazy to consider this??

How will the crowds be and just as importantly, how will the HEAT be? I don’t mind hot, I don’t think that any of us do actually (DH, DS, DD) but I just want to get an idea.

When we went in April of this year there was a unseasonable cold spell in Orlando and we were wearing jeans an sweatshirts for the first half of the trip. So a warm trip would not be bad.

We are just SO excited to be able to go again...I'm def addicted!!

We were there the end of July and it was HOT. We needed a fan during the day to help cool us off. Thankfully we stayed at POFQ so mid-day we went back to the hotel, took a nap, hit the pool, and then hit another park at night so we avoided a lot of the really hot times. I live in South Florida so there isn't much of a difference between July hot and August hot. Florida doesn't really start cooling down until October-ish.

We were there during this time frame this year. I found it to be completely manageable if you are trying not to take the kids out of school. It was hot but many of the attractions are air conditioned. The crowds were pretty good except for the weekend and even then not too bad. Overall we will definitely go back again that time of year. It is much better than other times when school is off.

We went Sept 1st-9th this year and it was GREAT! We hardly had any waits for rides and there was no rain except one bout for about 20 minutes one day. The drawback was it was very HOT and HUMID! Of course we are from a very dry climate so the humidity really kicks our butt! Labor Day was on the 1st this year and I heard that crowds are the lowest ever the week after Labor Day. We have our next trip booked for Sept 5th-13th for next year so obviously we didn't hate the heat and humidity THAT much.

this year and would do it again. It is hot, but if you have a plan you should be fine. (we were at our worst when we were all standing there wondering what to do next.) The bigger problem for us was rain. When we went in May there wasn't any.. and this time we had 2 days, and I imagine there could have been more. I don't think that the weather will be much different a few weeks later into Sept than they would be this week.

The only day that was really busy was the day we left.. Sunday before Labor day. Other than that we were fine crowd-wise.

One other complaint we had was that the a/c was freezing! Going into many buildings without a sweatshirt was torture.

Have fun!

Disney World in September is great. We were there in mid-Sept. 2006. High temps were around 90 degrees, but that's what a/c and the pools are for. Crowds were virtually non-existent. We didn't mind pulling the kids out of school for a week to do a "big" trip like Disney...it just depends on your kids and whether you think they can handle missing a week or not.

Also, Disney has offered a free dining plan during September the last few years, so that really makes it a good deal!

We will be there during that time next year (August 29 thru Sept. 5). We have done those dates the past 2 years and with free dining during that time it gets more and more crowded each year.

Just use fastpasss and extra magic hours and make your ADR's as soon as you are allowed and you will be fine.

Our friends went the week after Labor Day and said it was a ghost town even with free dining. But I understand the school situation.

I personally would never plan a trip for late August/early Sept....that is PRIME hurricane time. I think more hurricanes come then than at other times. It would be too stressful for me.
