considering HH purchase, have?'s

We are thinking about purchasing HH points, but really will mostly wish to stay at OKW or WLV. Is there a problem with not staying where you own???

The price is right for the HH purchase and that is why we are considering this.

You should seriously consider buying where you want to stay. With only a 7 month window, it can be tough getting in at other resorts (depending on the time of year, of course).

As an example, I called this morning for a studio in December. Only BCV and OKW have availability. So unless you own at VWL and could call right at 11 months, you're out of luck. I pity the poor people who have to wait til 7 months to call for there in December because they didn't buy there.

October is often a popular time at WDW- especially around fall break school schedules. In addition, future reservation habits may be vastly different than the present time. Having the 11 month priority is a definite advantage- both now and for the future.

While the possibility of saving a few hundred $$ sounds appealing now, you may regret that choice if you have difficulty reserving dates when you wish to go.

If you have great flexibility with your room type and travel dates, the 7 month window can work well. If have more specific needs, you'd be better to own at the location you intend to use the most.

Unless you intend to go to HH regularly, you can find a great resale deal at OKW, BWV or VWL that will likely suit your needs better.
