Considering first purchase and have questions!

AK-J value studio are the smallest studios - points and area. You'll be on the bus everywhere but in September you can stay for a week on less than 60 points and in December on less than 80. OKW and SSR low point rooms can be reserved 7 to 5 months window. Our onus was walking ability. We like to walk to parks and that was our preference, once we purchased AK-J.
BLT studios are actually smaller.

Having stayed at SSR, OKW, and AKL ourselves I’d lean AKL, but honestly OKW is nice and easy going for sure.

We stayed at OKW in a studio on rented points before buying our first poly resale contract. I loved the laid-back feel of the OKW resort, but the internal bus system almost ruined it for me. You gotta pack your patience for the buses there. I would have a hard time staying there again without having a car. I also did not care for the actual studio room and would definitely spring for a 1bd. The studio has little to no theming and is just meh. The points charts are great, so if you want it go for it. But I will kinda forewarn you that once you own DVC your travel styles and room preferences can change- so be prepared to add on or swap out resorts lol.

I can’t imagine having to deal with those Disney buses and waiting around so much…. Would make it so much less fun.

I think you want to be sure that you enjoy the resort you are buying in case you can’t change out at 7 months.

Studios are the hardest rooms to book and when you travel can make a huge difference.

OKW had the big benefit of having a great point chart, and the rooms are some of the biggest.

But MFs are also the biggest part of the expense and OKW is higher than others.

However, if you need to own less points that can help.

One resort I might consider though is Poly if studios is what you want. While a little higher in terms of initial buy in, the dues will help offset that and you have a longer contract and really nice sized studios with the two bath areas.

Plus, it’s close to MK and easily to get to Epcot too!

They did an episode of the DVC Show where they discussed the best place to buy sleep around points. The basis of sleep around points is the lowest cost per point without concern for the point charts.

The best mathematically was Saratoga Springs followed by Poly.

Their point charts are not the best but far from the worst. Either may be good choices assuming you can find an extended Saratoga contract.

Poly gets you on the monorail loop for MK and Epcot, it has walking and boat to MK as well.

The size of the Poly studios are nice and the second bathroom can be used as a toddler bedroom with a pack and play. Not sure of your child’s age and at best it only lasts for a few years for that purpose. The downside being unless Poly 2 is the same association, you won’t be able to use your current points at 11 months if you decide to move up to a 1br.

SSR has great access to Disney springs and all room types. I haven’t ever set foot there so can’t much else.

There is no such thing as an extended Saratoga. Did you mean OKW?
