Hi,

I'm considering buying a Sizzix machine and besides the alphabets what kind of cute things do you use with it?

I've seen some cute lady bugs that have been layered with different colors...

Any ideas?

I bought myself one this past winter after my Grandmother died and left me some $$. I decided to splurge with a bit of it and buy myself something I really wanted. I bought a Sizzix and a handful of dies. I have since bought more dies at the store (Michael's with the 50% off coupon) and on ebay. Anyhow, I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would I have two of the Sizzlets alphabets, but they are very time consuming to use. Actually, I have only used one, once, to make a book report cover for DD! So anyhow, THINK TWICE, before you buy one. Make sure that you really want it and will use it. I like how easy it is to use and all.... I just don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. Also, keep in mind how expensive the dies are!......P

She also got an alphabet set, the numbers and punctuation at the same time. Any dies she wants - she gets with her allowance - usually using a Michaels coupon.

She loves it - I mean LOVES it.

Plus - I get to use it whenever I want!!!

I have a Sizzix and one upper/lower case alphabet set. I use it manly for scrapbooking and crafts.

In addition, I buy dies whenever I need a particular thing for my children's school parties, birthdays or seasonal cards. I only have a small collection so far but I plan on adding as I go along.

I just bought a Sizzix machine with a 50% off coupon from Michaels. I was able to get a new uppercase Fun Serif alphabet set off of ebay for 56.00. Then a week or so later, I got a new uppercase Lollipop alphabet set from ebay for $46.99. I couldn't have gotten them that cheap even with a half off coupon. So far I have used them quite a bit since I am in the middle of scrapbooking a trip that we went on this summer. I'm sure my daughter will get a good bit of use out of it too for her school projects.

Well, I bought one. I haven't opened it yet though. I'll wait a little to make sure I really want it. After reading some of your posts, it doesn't sound like a good investment.

I love my Sizzix. I got it with the 50% M coupon. I only have one alphabet set but plan to get more and I love the doodlebugs dies. I think it is a great investment. I hate my handwriting and use it for titles on my scrapbook pages. I know alot of people who are very happy with it. They also have some GREAT new products coming out for it. I want them all!

DH bought it for me when they first came out(Living in Mass. things take awhile to get here...but he found one !)

I have every alphabet that has come so far and I use this thing DAILY...not only for scrapbooking...but for crafts of all types...it cuts more than paper...you can cut fabric, felt, foam, flat sponges...etc....

I use it alot for scouts(the boys love it)! I think it is my most used item!

Thanks for the tip about Ebay: I purchased the upper and lower case Serif alphabets last night. I have the lollipop alphabet and love it, but wanted something different.

Thanks!

I just started scrapbooking, I got this shapecutter and templates from Fiskars, and I love it, it has 4 differents sets of letter templates available (though i haven't seen lower case) and lots of other fun shaps. The cutting tool is regular $15 and the templates are about $5 (I've seen them as low as 3.60 with shipping online).

I tried just getting the templates and using an exacto knife, but I wasn't skilled enough to do this, so i bought the tool they recommend, and I love it. More work then a sizzix but SOOOO much cheap.
