A lot of people have been drinking for 8 years to forget the problem in the White House, (hey, He did.) Watch booze sales drop after the celebrations on the 21st, and it won't have anything to do with the economy.

I was all about giving GWB a chance when he was first elected by the Supreme Court. The media had said he was a moderate known for bringing people together across the aisle and I was hopeful. I wish he had lived up to that reputation. I'm hoping the same for Obama, that he is able to acheive good things. Say-is that guy in your siggie the actor who played the father in The Patty Duke Show? Is he back on TV? What's his name, I forget? I always loved his smile and wink!!!

i have not seen this very selfish question yet: what was your favorite christmas gift this year?

mine was a lovely cologne my father surprised me with...he has trouble walking, but went into macy's during the christmas rush, sniffed around, and picked it out so that i would have a surprise. (there aren't many 'cause i do most of the prep.)

my other favorite is just that my family still likes to spend christmas together. i loved that and i think it is a real gift.

What a nice post. You're absolutely right - it's wonderful when family wants to spend Christmas together. That's how it was with us too. I love my DH's family and my family and I love spending time with them.

My favorite gift? My Ipod. Even though I haven't used it yet, I already love it. Can't wait to use it!

So you knew right from the getgo that it was gonna be a bad 8 years? What ever happened to "give him a chance" like we're being told about Obama?

They never gave President Bush a chance. Do not believe the Left. Everything is political to them. Everything (including the weather!) They can no more support a Conservative than they can the rights of an unborn child.......we are simply in their way.......

Setting aside 9/11 (and President Bush's actions after it), the best thing I can say for President Bush is he made sure those morons (and yes they really are morons) Al Gore and John Kerry never became President. For that alone, President Bush has earned my respect in perputuity.

I plan on giving President-elect Obama a chance.....a chance to implicate himself in the Blagejovich affair for starters.......I expect more opportunites will present themselves......

Just out of curiosity, is Obama the first President-elect to be "interviewed" by the FBI for two hours as part of a criminal investigation?

If so, this would be another "First" for the only "clean" politician to come out of the state of Illinois since Abraham Lincoln......

Either way, I am enjoying watching them squirm.......

Really? I haven't been watching the news at all (dealing with the toy bomb that went off in this house) so I haven't heard this.

Yes. I finished my application a few weeks ago. Fortunately, the Honorable Ken Starr, Pepperdine's Dean of Law, is on the John Jay Institute's board of advisors. He has personally asked for a couple of us to be a part of his program. I hope that means I have a good shot!

I got a warning for quoting inappropriate material. I wrote the mods and asked them what was inappropriate so it doesn't happen again, still waiting for a response. They could at least make a reference to said post so I would know. The only reason I even knew I had a warning is because I accidently clicked on My Profile instead of Subscribed Threads. It seems like they would at least PM you so you know the warning is out there. It isn't like I sit around thinking of ways to all day long, you know, like certain libs that post on THIS thread.

I'm pretty sure it was about that Barney Frank video, at least assuming you were part of the same incident I was warned about. No worries on this issue. The mods are justified.

And yeah, I am getting a little irritated about this broken door. There are SO many other threads to start riots on. Why pick this one?

I normally keep quiet about these thigns because talking to trolls is like feeding strays, they don't go away, but I am so sick of this. What do you "lurkers" really think will happen when you post on our thread? That we'll all see the error of our beliefs and turn into Obama drones, like the rest of you? Really? I doubt that, so there is only one reason you'd come here; to start trouble.

This is not a debate thread. This is a place for conservatives to come and talk to other conservatives. You aren't conservative. You have nothing to add to this conversation. Are you so attention starved that you can't stop yourselves from coming over here and starting trouble? If you want to debate, start a debate thread. If you want to drool over Obama, you have your very own thread where you can do that. I can't speak for everyone here, but I have never even looked at that thread. I have no reason to. I'm not liberal so I don't post there. I don't even read it. I wish you'd all treat our thread the same way I treat yours. With respect. But I won't hold my breath.

Now, please, can we conservatives go back to our conversation without the liberal commentary?
