Consent Letter - Different Kind Of Question!

does anyone know at what age that you do not need one ? My husband's younger brother is coming with us to disney world in december ... We are flying out of boston ... He will be 16 at the time ... But has a different last name then all of us....

18 makes you a legal adult in most places.

I'm originally from the States, and my daughter is a Canadian citizen. Everytime I've crossed the border without dh, I've had a consent letter folded inside of our passports. They've always been looked over by the border agent, and no one has ever said a word about it. I'd rather be safe than sorry. And I've never had one notorized and never had a problem, and we cross the border without dh a lot.
