Connections - Movie Passes

Did anyone ever purchase movie passes through connections for $4.50 I was told that there were no restrictions on the passes - I would like someone to verify it. I know sometimes certain movie passes can't be used within the first 2 weeks the movie is released.

I purchase these passes often and yes they are restricted to the first 10 days of release. You can pay an additional fee to "upgrade" the pass to see a movie that is in its first 10 days of release. My passes for UA theatres say the fee is $1.50.
They are $4.50 thru connections (last time I bought) and we find them a great bargain as we are not limited to going to matinee (before 6pm) to save money and we rarely get to rush out and see the new releases.
Our theatres recently increased to $6 matinee and $8 for later shows so we saved 12 bucks recently when we saw Nemo..

I am a member of Connections and have ordered gift cards before but never movie tickets. Can you tell me how they work? Here in Chicago, tickets are at least $9 for regular admission. Even matinees are $5.50. Do you get an actual ticket or do you get a voucher that you have to turn in for a ticket? How are you treated when you try to use them? Do act like it is a hassle?

I used the movie tickets at the AMC theatre in Downtown Disney this week - no problem at all as long as the movie has been out 10 days. This makes for a nice evening if it is raining or you need a break from the parks. They accepted the coupons without any hassle.

We used these passes most recently to see NEMO! I have never had a problem using my passes either and have always been treated just as well as if I had been using cash.

When you present them at the ticket booth they give you your ticket which gets torn in half when you enter the theater. Same process as cash. The only restriction is the No new release movies in the first 10 days of release. After that you are free to go at anytime. The boys think it's neat to go to the movies at night and this is the only way we can afford to go.
We take advantage of everything Connections offers, to make the most of our membership! So far So good!

First you can choose the theater chain from a list of participating theaters when you purchase from Connections. I have purchased AMC theaters and United Artists. There are many others.
I have 3 of the AMC passes left (for Pirates of the Carrib.) and this is how they read:

PRESENT AT BOX OFFICE
Good at any AMC theatre nationwide, excluding Canadian theatres.
Subject to surcharge in the New york City area.
Special Engagements excluded. Special Engagements restriction is necessary to comply with the contractual obligations of motion picture distributors on certain films. It is AMC's policy to remove the restrictions after the second weekend of the films release. Please check local newspaper listings or the box office for this information.
VALID SEVEN DAY A WEEK.
expires 6/30/04 except in Calif. or MA.
