Ok I have a question about Connections. I am thinking about joining, but I know the memership fee is like $139.95.

Has anyone ever gotten them to lower the price?? I know that when I cancelled last time they kept offering me good deals....do they still do that???

Also, do they sell gas station gift cards??

Thanks,
Matt

I cancelled connections last year and went with hotwiresavingsclub instead for $7.95 month.

I was a member of Connections last year. When I was researching whether or not to join, I read somewhere that if you say you were quoted a discounted rate of $59.95 they will charge you that amount as your annual fee. I felt kinda funny saying that to the Connections rep on the phone when I called to join; but guess what...it worked ! I was a member for one year (charged only the $59.95 fee) then cancelled because of numerous billing errors/mistakes. You can try..it doesn't hurt to ask.

Wow, I'd love to know if anyone else got that deal!
We are with Hotwire right now, and we'll probably stay with them if we like them. But it's nice to know there is another reasonable option. I thought Connections was way too expensive when compared to Hotwire.

Can you tell me how much the 7-Day Park-Hopper Plus tickets are? I'd like to know both adult and child pricing.

DH and are trying to decide what our best choice for tickets is.

Thanks!

I have read bad things about Connections.

Check out what Mary has to say at MouseSavers (under the heading MWI Programs: Connections, Simple Escapes, Hotwire Savings Club):
http://www.mousesavers.com/mealvouchers.html

You should be aware that complaints about MWI membership programs are widespread. The Attorney Generals' Offices of at least four states (Minnesota, New York, California and Nebraska) have obtained either an "Assurance of Voluntary Compliance" or a court settlement with MWI. In October 2003, the Florida Attorney General's Office brought a new suit against MWI, alleging continuing deceptive marketing practices. There have also been at least three private class-action lawsuits brought on behalf of consumers against MWI.

She also says first year membership is typically $89.95, then $149.95 the next years.

I used Connections two years in a row (2001 & 2002), using the 30 day trial and spent thousands of dollars with them between WDW PHP's, Seaworld and Universal tickets and meal vouchers, and never had one single problem with them in any way, in fact the service was fantastic.

This year I joined Hotwire and bought movie tickets, gift cards and meal vouchers and have been more than satisfied with their service. I decided to keep the membership because it is only $7.95/mo.
