Well...I signed up for connections and used my mom's address since it said not valid in my area (NY). So anyway, I got a call from a woman today because my billing address and address on my account don't match up and I ordered some vouchers. So I explained why, she said they would ship them here, which is fine. So then, she says "We are aware that you have our link listed on ebay, and that can't be done, so can you please remove it". That caught me off guard!!! I actually wasn't selling the link, I made an auction last night, put .01 on it since you have to put a price, and flat out listed the sites in the description to order the vouchers from so people wouldn't be paying $16.00 for one, or even $2.50 to BUY the link. She then went on to say it is illegal for the people to be re-selling the vouchers on ebay, as they state not for resale on them, and that it's ruining their reputation with Disney since people keep selling them on ebay. She was very nice, I was very apologetic and just explained that I couldn't stand to see people paying for a link or paying that much for the voucher.

Soooo, I'm off to delete my auction now. Just wanted to share :)

That was really nice of you to help the folks on ebay. I'm kinda surprised that they put "2 and 2" together and figured out it was you.

I know, but my ebay user name is the same as my email address that I used to sign up, but without the @aol.com part. They must be matching up the people selling them with the memberships they have on file.

I looked on my vouchers but I can't see where it says not for resale. This is interesting though! Thanks for the info!

You know, I wondered about all those vouchers being sold on Ebay myself. Now I know where they are originating from (Connections), I've never checked that out, is it worth the price of joining?

Some of those vouchers are going for really good money on Ebay, I was wondering why people would pay so much for food vouchers when you could join Connections yourself and buy the same ones cheaper. It's amazing what people will pay for things on Ebay.

Well what is even funnier is there is a woman who has 10 vouchers listed in two separate auctions, THEN has another auction with the link to connections for sale to buy the vouchers!!! And people are bidding on the 10 voucher auction!!!!! These poor people haven't got a clue!

I got a similarcall when I just had vouchers for sale. They threatened to take me to court if I didn't end my auction! It does say in your connections contract that the items you purchase are for personal consumption and that they are not to be sold. It also says non-transferrable on the bottom of all the vouchers.

So, if you end up with some left over vouchers at the end of a vacation, you are not allowed to resell them on ebay (or anywhere)? How would that ruin Connections reputation? How would Disney know they were sold? Just curious. Haven't bought any yet, but I was considering it. I'm just concerned about having some left at the end of my trip, then I'm stuck with them....

Maybe people buy them off ebay for such a high amount and then complain to Disney when they feel like they've been ripped off after eating in the parks/hotels and they realize they aren't worth that much

Yes, that is exactly what happened. Some folks complained to Disney that the vouchers weren't worth the $18+ they paid on eBay for them. So, Disney apparently threatened to pull their association with Connections. It's actually hilarious to me because eBay auctions are not "ruining their reputation." Their business practices of charging peoples credit cards without authorization is ruining their reputation! :p I sold some last year and they called me as well. She was a real *****. She told me she could contact eBay and have them leave negative feedback for me if I didn't pull them. I laughed and told her that she was incorrect, eBay doesn't post negative feedback for people at the REQUEST of others! (clearly she didn't know how eBay works) She then told told me that if I listed any more I would be hearing from their legal department. I told her I'm still waiting on a credit from them from my membership fee that was cancelled way before they charged the fees so BRING IT ON! I would LOVE to hear from your legal department. She hung up on me. Her name was Christine and I still laugh about it!

I think it was Christine I spoke to as well. I purposely used my paypal virtual debit card to order the vouchers as well as sign up for the membership because I don't keep money in there, so if they try to charge me after I cancel, they won't get a dime.
