Connection time required in Terminal 3 JFK?

Our Delta flight arrives at 7:35am and the connection leaves for MCO at 8:00am in JFK's Terminal 3.

Will that be enough time? Delta has reassured me that they consider this a "legal" connection, but it seems like it would be really close to me.

Anyone know if there is any chance of me making my connection?

Wow. I would not book that. Where are you flying from, what time do you get to JFK, and have you checked the ontime performance of your first flight?

If you are even 10 minutes late then you won't make the second flight unless that too is delayed.

I won't book anything less than 45 minutes in the same terminal, or 1 hour if I have to walk between terminals. If it's an important trip or late in the day, then I make it at least 2 hours connect time.

My flight actually leaves at 8:15am, not 8 am, so I would have 40 minutes. That is if we arrive on time, of course.
