We are travelling with another family May 20-28. They are arriving a few hours earlier than us, but we want connecting rooms. I know Pop will not guarantee connecting rooms, but what is our best chance of getting them? We are making our reservations this afternoon and I am wondering if we need to pay for both rooms on one credit card. Will this help us to get the rooms? We have 2 children and they have 1, and we want the kids to be able to spend time together without having to go outside the rooms, for safety reasons. Thanks for any advice!

We had a smiliar situation last year.

We booked the two different reservations, one package and one room only. After each reservation was made we added "traveling with reservation #xxxxxxxxxx, connecting rooms if possible". We were given connecting rooms, ground floor, in building 2. It wasn't a "great" location, but we at least had connecting rooms.

I'd make sure both reservations request connecting rooms and that you mention it again at check-in. Let the front desk staff know that your willing to wait for your rooms as well. My guess would be the earlier you check-in, the better your chances are... but everything depends on resort availability.

When we stayed at CBR in 2002 we were traveling with another family who wasn't arriving for another few hours. When we checked in, we asked if we could have connecting rooms to thier reservation/name. The lady at the front desk was great and we recieved two rooms in Jamiaca, connecting. We had slipped colored pictures under the door for the girls of the other family; they mentioned how neat it was to arrive in the room and see them!

I have had connecting rooms at POP several times (we always travel with at least 6 people) The last time they "linked" the reservations together as traveling with reservation #XXXX and requested connecting rooms. Even then it was not a simple issue - and took more than an hour to get connecting rooms when checking in....(PS - I was the one PAYING for both of the rooms) Seems as if Disney has a problem with the room assignment function in their resorts - I would rather pay extra and be guaranteed connecting rooms - it should not be that big of an issue to assign connecting rooms - but for Disney it is. :confused3 I would suggest checking in as early as possible in the day - we always check in before noon even if the rooms aren't ready. Good Luck!!!
