Connecting reservations

Myself husband and two young adult children are doing a short trip to Disney before our cruise. I booked two rooms at Destino Tower and while booking it asked if I wanted connecting rooms, which I replied yes and provided the information of the other room booking on both. I then thought maybe it’d be good to speak with a cast member and make sure the two reservation numbers were linked somehow, so I did a chat. The cast member put a note in saying that our reservations were a family traveling together. He also put in to have adjoining or rooms close by. I asked if he could add in connecting rooms because that’s what we are really hoping for and he replied that the adjoining rooms were already requested and it was the same thing (I know they are not but didn’t want to argue, although now I wish I had been a little more pushy). Will this now lower our chances of connecting rooms? I have my original request for connecting rooms when I made the reservation and I have a request through Touring Plans that says connecting rooms, will those be enough or should I contact a cast member again?

They have the note, you don’t need to do it again. Do realize it’s just a request, so don’t go in expecting it to be fulfilled. (I was once told they prioritize families with children for that request.) GDT is so nice and convenient connecting rooms when the kids are adults aren’t necessary at all Imho. Perfectly easy to meet up anywhere.

I thought the traveling with notation is to prevent you from getting moved to separate resorts in case something happens and they need to move you and you booked on seperate reservations. Like you do with airlines when people are on different reservations but want to be rebooked together in case something happens.

If you aren't assigned connecting rooms when you check-in, you can always go to the front desk to see if they can move you. No guarantees, but it never hurts to ask.
