I have noticed that there are several Category 3 1 BR Suites that connect with Category 4 Family Staterooms... has anyone ever booked these connecting rooms? I am curious how it worked out and whether DCL tries to limit concierge benefits to the portion of the passengers actually booked in the Category 3.

We have 4 kids, so we don't fit in anything but a Category 1 or 2 without booking 2 rooms, but my parents are going and I was thinking about booking the Category 3 for us and having them book the Category 4 and sticking one of our kids in their room - any comments on my strategy?

There was a post about this some time ago. You may want to try doing a search. I believe someone had the same situation as you. If I remember correctly they were able to make Palo reservations for their family in Cat. 4 but the Cat. 3 received all the perks (daily treats, etc.) and the Cat. 4 didn't. I would like DCL would have to limit the concierge benefits. HTH

In Oct 2002 we had a cat 4 connecting to a cat 3. TottyJane is correct, the Cat 4 people could use Concierge Benefits, but the Cat 4 did not receive the daily treats, they were only delivered to the Cat 3 cabin. Everyone went to the concierge reception and had the concierge team take care of any need reservations. One nice surprise was that the children staying in the Cat 4 cabin did receive a few $5 arcade cards as gifts from the concierge team during the cruise.
