Congrats to Gate River Run 15K runners

I just did my first Gate River Run this morning.


Congrats to all of the other 15,000+ runners/walkers who fought through the fog and the "green monster" and made it to the finish.

Today was VERY disappointing for me. I went to bed last night primed and ready & woke up this morning wheezing & coughing up my OWN great big green monsters.

I figured that (just this ONCE) I would let common sense win out and did not go.

There's always next year.

I'm just lucky that the chips this year are disposable and did not need to be returned.

Now the REALLY bad thing is that I have no scheduled events until the AFAC Tri in September. Gotta' find somewhere to get some bling this summer.......................... Anyone have any ideas near NE Florida?

Oh man I want to run that race!!! every year I say I am gonna do it, and every year I forget until its too late.

I lived in Jacksonville for almost 9 years. Thats where I started running. I was primed and ready and registered to run that race when I found out I was pregnant. Because it was a high risk pregnancy the Doctor wouldn't even consider letting me participate.

Next year.....

Congrats to all the finishers, it looks like a challenging and fun race!

Sorry you missed the Gate run. My IL have been trying to get us up there for that one, but there's always a schedule conflict.

There's a website 1stplacesports.com They run (no pun intened) most all of the races in NE Florida. Most of the runs in the coming months will be shorter races (I'm pretty sure most don't give you medals) , but come Oct. there are some half & full marathons.

But that website will let you know for sure, just check under Race Calendar and you'll get a list of them all.

There is the Guana River 50k run in Ponte Vedra Beach on Saturday, 3/28.

I did this one, too! It was a fun race. Not as fun as the Princess, but fun...

JimB- There's the Bridge Run 5k in Brunswick, GA, on Saturday. There's also the Swamp Run 10k in Waycross on March 28. It may be too far away for you, but it's fun- it's on roads, boardwalks, and trails. The races, if you can even find them, become 5ks around here after the Swamp Run. Wait, the Turtle Crawl on Jekyll Island is May 16- it's a tri and I think a 5k.
