Confusion about ESPN Club and Dining Plan?? Please help

My husband and son want to go to the ESPN Club at Boardwalk next weekend for the football games. I called Disney Dining and the CM told me they don't take reservations (no biggie) and they are not on the DDP. But then I noticed on my Undercover Tourist iphone app that is says this place is on the DDP. So I called back, CM said yes it is. Called again today to try to get a reservations for something else, and I asked again just for kicks. CM said no it is not on DDP. Argh!!! So can anyone tell me, if you have dined there recently...do they accept DDP or not? I can't believe I am having such a hard time getting a straight answer from Disney.

ESPN Club IS on the dining plan, but does not take reservations.

Disney Dining reservations people are mostly over in Tampa, and a fair number of them know very little about Disney dining. If it's not showing up on their "screen" right now, they don't know it. I've talked to Disney Dining phone people who admit they've never been to DisneyWorld...or they've been there, but don't eat in the restaurants that take reservations.

ESPN Club is table service on the dining plan...they don't take reservations, but they do have menus & servers take your order, bring your food etc.

Just a little heads up for you, get there really early for the football games to ensure yourself a seat during the game. I'm not sure if you are planning on going for college games on saturday or NFL on sunday, but I have been there on the sundays and it is packed!!!!

DH and I went last year and showed up about 1:15 and did not get a seat until about 3:00 AND we had to share a table with another couple in order to get a seat. This year we showed up around 12:15 for the 1:00 games and we got one of the last tables. By the time the games started there was a line of about 20 or 30 people. I knew it would be busy, but I had no idea it would be like that. Just wanted to make sure you were well informed so that you don't miss a game you wanted to see.

Also, like the PP has already said, they are definitely on the dining plan. DH & I just used it there on 9/19. Hope you enjoy it there!

Wonderful, thank you so much for all the input! My son is so excited to go there! I'll make sure the guys arrive no later than noon (they are going for NFL football on Sunday).

Is this the ESPN grill? We were just at WWOS getting some info for a tournament and were told it is a quick service location, but like WPE, the food is served to you??

Thanks for the great info! DH and I are planning to go there to watch the Packer/Vikings game next Sunday night. I will make sure we get there an hour early to get a good seat. Or any seat at all, apparently.

This is the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk. It is a TS.
We had dinner there for the first time in Aug and it was great! The ribs are HUGE and very good and the reuben was fantastic. It is a really great place if you have a sports nut (like my DH). He was in heaven there. Lots of fun things to see and TV's everywhere. DH actually came out of the men's room and started to say..." Honey..can I get a TV in the ......" I cut him off before he had a chance to finish..with a big fat NO.

I'm wondering if this is a work able plan or not?

We get into MCO at 6:15 take the MExpess to POP and check in. Then I was planning on taking disney transportation to ESPN for Dinner. I'm thinking we should get there about 9pm or so do you think 1. there is still football play? If not I would expect they would have some other sport thing on? 2. Do you think we would have to wait long for a table?

We have never been and I have a sports nut at home who I think might enjoy seeing this.
