Confusing SSR info...

In the foldout I received in the mail today from DVC it says -
Thsi vacation points chart is effective as of the resort opening, currently projected to be spring 2004, through December 31, 2004.

I dont get the through december 31, 2004 part. I thought they couldn't cahnge the point allotement?

There is a new point chart every year to compensate for the dates that move, such as Spring Break.

DVC can also change the point allotment, just not the total number of points at any given resort. Something can go up if something else goes down. This has only happened in the very early days of OKW but it is a possibility.

Easter and Thanksgiving dates change every year, making some seasons shift slightly.

The point charts can be changed (and have been in the past). The total points cannot be changed, but points may be reallocated. If some nights go up in points needed, others MUST go down.

This has happened only once- at OKW in 1996, but can be changed in the future without the permission of the membership.

I wouldn't read anything into the phrase "through December 31, 2004"- since every point chart is based on the same premise. They are released for an entire calendar year. In the case of SSR, they are good thru the end of 2004- just like the charts already released for all other DVC resorts.

Every resort gets a new point chart every year. Seasons change, holidays change, etc, etc. Actually the points to fill the resort for the entire year change every year.

Think about leap years......

Duh... I knew this. I just wasn't thinking about the Thanksgiving and spring break changes. I was thinking they menat they could chnge the total points. Thansk everyone.
