Confusing Hotel Rates

Hi everybody

I was just about to go to bed then I found a german homepage with very magical prices for Disney Hotels.

I just posted an example in the Contemporary-Thread, but this seems all not possible to me.

I will give you some more examples.
All the prices are for value season in summer!

Example 1, Beach Club Resort, Standard View, 1 person:
181 Euro (223 $) each night.

Example 2, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom View, 4 persons:
79 Euro (97 $) each night each person.

Example 3, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Savanna View, 2 persons:
82 Euro (101 $) each night each person

Is that possible???

ah sorry, it's expedia.de


its very difficult to get to the hotel rates, so just type in "expedia.de contemporary resort" in google, than the first results should be from expedia.de. when google has a result with another disney hotel from expedia.de, just click that. Then you can change to hotel on the right on the expedia-site. Just type in the dates (anytime in value summer season) and be surprised like me. I can even book Club Level in Grand Floridian there.

When you multiply that out, it makes

Beach Club Resort, 223/night = about 35% savings off 340

Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom View, 388/night = 25% savings off 515

Animal Kingdom Lodge 202/night = 35% savings off 310

35% is the current promotion for deluxes on the disneyworld.com for after Aug 14, 25% for up to august 14

ah ok, than it seems like expedia is the only german agency which takes prices directly from Disney.

Actually I had the wrong info let me look again - the discount is 40% after the 14th . too much math in head. I'll find a calculator and re calculate.

But you are totally right. I just took dates in October et voila, i got the normal prices.

But I am still wondering why expedia is able to use those discounts.

Rack Rate = 340
+ tax = 382
-40% = 229

MKV GF after July18 - Sept 30
Rack Rate = 515
+ tax = 579
- 35% Discount = 376
Not sure about this one.

AKL Savannah View after July18
Rack Rate 310
+tax = 349
- 40% = 209

None of those numbers match up exactly, but the first and last are really close.

They are general public deals, so any person (or their travel agent) can book it.
