...John has been barred from the DISBoards after some disagreement involving US based Disers. Many of you will know jj, and have followed his progress on the US debate boards with interest!

JJ has asked me to let you know that he won't be able to play here any more, and to thank everyone who knows him for their friendship over the years... particular mention going to Vernon & Kaylee.

Id just like to say, that as a fellow Diser I think jj will be solely missed, he has always contributed to many a thread, and has given excellent advice to the novices and seasoned WDW visitors.

I think its a sad day that standing up for yourself or what you belive in, gets you banned. SORRY

I don't know what is happening to this site lately, I understand the administrators have the right to do as they wish, it's their board after all - still it is a shame when it comes to this.

If I was in charge I'd scrap the entire Debate Board. Reading the 'debates' is a deeply depressing experience. I only dip into the Board occasionally, and always regret it. It's a shame that opinions become so polarised that moderators feel it necessary to take such drastic action as banning people. Isn't it ironic that the Debate Board is in the DIS section called "Just for Fun"!

Ironically I asked on the debate board if they thought the debate board was a good idea for the DIS.

This is a Disney board, I just don't see a place for it - if it was debating the pros and cons of disney then maybe, but politics, religion and personal attacks should be kept for other areas of the internet. Just my opinion!

.... overnight, several 'new' members turned up on another site where jj also hangs out, and levied nasty abuse at the fella. Wonder where they came from?

Long way from getting a buzz chatting about Disney and helping people plan their holidays of a lifetime, isn't it?

Rob makes a fair point about the Debate Board, IMO.

Hmmm, I thought the same - how sad is that!!!!!!!

I agree that the debate board probably has no place on the DIS anyway, but I do think JJ has been the victim of the 'thought police' !!!!! It seems you can say ANYTHING as long as it's not perceived to be anti-american or more specifically anti-Bush policy!!!!!!!!

Still, those of us who have not been brain-washed will continue to keep JJ's memory alive!

And see him in the 'other' place of course!!!!!!!

I think that he stood up for what he belived in and stood his ground says alot.

I read alot on the debate board and jj is one of few who is factual and sustantiate what he says.


If you are not allowed to debate get rid of the debate board.
