Hi everyone. I'm really confused right now. I'm trying to figure out if a Wishes wedding or an Escape wedding is the best for us. We have a small group of people 15-18, that we would like to attend. My only concern with the Escape package is no reception. I know you can have a dinner/reception at one of their restaurants, but does anyone know if you can hire a dj for them? I never had a sweet 16 and a very important thing for me is to be able to dance with my father. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thnx!!

you can hire a dj for the escape "reception" however, an escape "reception" is limited to two hours only...so if you wanted a longer reception you would have to go with the wishes option even if your guest count was still under the escape maximum

Also, if you have a reception you book through DFTW, you will raise the Escape minimum to $7500.00. If you are planning a catered event with a DJ you may be planning to spend that anyway!!! Good luck with your decision!!

Time is built into the Escape cake cutting ceremony that is included in the package for husband/wife first dance, father/daughter, mother/son dances. So, you wouldn't need to go through the extra expense of hiring a DJ unless you want a full out "party" feel to your celebration.

HTH!

I agree with this. Plus, the "party" feel might be difficult with only 15 guests. I recommend having the dances during the cake cutting (you will have the violinist there that can play whatever you want).

Hello :)

We are only have a small wedding (18/20 or so ) and we went for a Wishes as we wanted to treat everyone who is coming to a full day of food and entertainment.

We aren't having a DJ or anything though, but are having an iPod setup in the Whitehall room, so will do the dance/s just before our cake cutting.

P.S. - I'm going to be a "Mrs B." too! :goodvibes

Thank you everyone for the information. It's very helpful to know that. I feel like Ive kept going back and forth on the decision. It doesn't help that i've been playing phone tag with them...haha

I'm having an escape wedding and we're also doing the first dance and a combination father/daughter & mother/son dance with a guitarist. If you want the actual version of a song you can either ask someone to play the music for you or pay for an audio tech.

This is what we did. We had close to 50 people in the Whitehall Room and used the iPod and it was perfect. My DH and I did our first dance and then we cut the cake. Our families are dancing people (lol) so the ipod provided atmosphere.

And to continue the theme, I'm a new "Mrs. B!" :goodvibes
