i'm so confused. why is there always conflicting information.

the nicest CM at MS was explaining to me that room requests are definitely no longer granted according to ressie seniority anymore.

they are just fulfilled in random order when the Room assignor assigns rooms 1-2 days before the arrival date.

i didn't question the CM 'cause she seemed very competent, but in my head i kept thinking

how do we find out the real info if some CM's give inconsistent answers?
who do we believe? :(

I used to think this too, but I no longer believe the above is true. At BCV two weeks ago at check in, the CM told me we got the Epcot view we requested. I was very excited. Then he started talking to us about other things, then hit a few buttons on his keyboard, and said to us "OOPS - looks like someone just took your room." I kid you not.

Apparently someone else was also checking in at the same time we were and because the CM was talking to us for a few moments, "our" Epcot view room was taken by someone else.

From this I can only guess that rooms are not even assigned at all. I was mad, but quickly reminded myself that nothing ruins my Disney vacation and took the pool view room which I was more than happy with.

Makes you wonder though doesn't it? (FYI - I made reservations 6 months prior to arrival.)

When we checked into OKW 2 weeks ago, I had made requests with the reservation and also confirmed them by fax 4 days before. When we checked in, I asked if our room was preassigned and was told yes and it met all our requests (non-smoking, first floor, water view, Turtle Pond Road. We got 4311).

Let me tell you a secret about WDW;) ;) If you ask 5 different CM or any employees you will get 5 different answers. Most of us have learned that what one person tells you the next may very well correct. Take everything with a grain of salt. I think 95 percent of veteran travelers to WDW or DVC will tell you the same thing. The reason for that is most likely that the rules change so often down there no one can keep up with them, throw in some rumors and if you are not confused something is wrong with you.
