This is the situation.
March break the kids are out of school.
It doesn't look hot enough for us, but as long as we can wear shorts and tank tops I'm happy.
We'd prefer the flower and garden festival at Epcot and Star Wars weekend in HS. These are in April.
Winters in the maritimes are SO long, Feb would be an ideal visit. But, again, school and weather (honestly weather comes first)

What are the crowds like in March and April? We've been 2 times in early/mid December and 2 times early October. Comparable?

Lastly, last October we went and enjoyed ourselves BUT found it all too firmiliar. Which is contradictory since we stayed at CSR instead of our 3 times in a row ASmovies. The fact is, we've been 4 years back to back.

I'm wondering if waiting a year and a half, a different time of year, new things to do, and the MK expansion will alleviate this feeling.

Perhaps we should get out of DW and explore?

I can't help but think, we spend about $4000 on DW and flights plus spending money........ is there ANYTHING else we could try that is as fun? Somewhere warm... we love DW for it's resort carefree abilities. Is there anywhere's else for that money that is close to that same feeling? I love trying new things....but I am missing Disney, warm weather, family time A LOT right now.

DARN WINTERS! October feels like so long ago!!

Can you tell I'm confused? :goodvibes

We have done the end of August before the girls go back to school. At the moment we have the exact same debate going on regarding what to do this August. Do we wait till the Fantasyland expansion is complete? Do we try Universal? Do we look at another cruise? We have the Disney Fantasy cruise booked for March Break 2013 so price is also important for this summer. Having booked the Fantasy the first week it was released we are look at approx. $4500 between the cruise and air for the four of us.

March can be busy as everyone's spring break seems to fall in there somewhere. But it's not Christmas holiday busy, so don't hesitate if that works for you.

I've traveled in April and October and both times, the weather was perfectly gorgeous. Warm enough to enjoy pools, but not so hot you were dripping sweat. April is also a good time to visit and enjoy moderate crowd levels. There were still lines, but these were minor.

FYI, we traveled in September, October, early December, mid-January (twice), and April. We sweated gallons in September and wore mitts in January. December was OK, but only two days of our week were warm enough to enjoy pools. April is my favorite time, but October is a close 2nd.

As for getting off property, do it! Busch Gardens Tampa is amazing - great thrill rides and a well developed Africa-themed wildlife park. Sea World and Legoland are on my "must see" list. Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure were each 2-day parks for me, even before Harry Potter was installed. I also think it would be worth the $30-$40/pp to drop by Gatorland and watch a few shows. All you need is a rental car. Everything is close and gas is cheap. The only time I ever used more than a tank on my typical 7-11 day trip was when we went to Busch Gardens.

Check out prices for the Orlando Flex Ticket. For about the same price as 3-10 days at WDW parks, you can get a ticket that covers unlimited 14-day admission to Universal (both parks), Sea World, Busch Gardens Tampa, and a couple water parks. (Not Legoland yet.) I would suggest staying on Disney property and enjoying the Disney resorts and Downtown Disney, but put your admission time and $ towards other parks.
