Confused: Dining Rotation & What Can We Order on FANTASY Eastern

Question: Let's say hubby and I don't like some of the menu offerings, can we order something not on the menu (grilled chicken w/veggies and mashed potatoes, for example)?

They have a lighter fare and Veg option on all the menus that my dd ordered from often. They always seem to have chicken and salmon. One night it was Chicken Salad that was pretty good.

You can order one entrée and ask for the another one with out the side. My husband did this a lot so he didn't waste. He also isn't into desserts so he had a mickey bar off the kids menu everynight.

You will find the meat is the main thing on the plates and the side are very small. But that being said you pick an app, a soup or salad and an entrée so by the time you get to that plate your pretty full...

I think I had a pasta dish most nights , there was always on of those too.

And what do you where to formal night ??

It depends on what cruise you are on. The 3 and 4 night cruise have dress up optional night. The 7 nights have a semi and a formal night. You can call Disney Cruise line and they will tell you what night.

What to wear?? A big topic on these boaods:rotfl2:. On the 3 and 4 night it's very laid back. You may see a few very dressy but mostly sun dresses for the ladies and khakis and a polo for the men. Then you sill see some in shorts.

On the longer cruises people tend to dress up more. On formal night you will see a few ladies in long dresses and men in tuxes. Most men will wear a suite and ladies a cocktail dress. A few don't like to dress up and will wear shorts. There is no dress code for the main dining rooms.

If you plan on getting family pictures done this is a good night to do it. Disney will have an area set up to take photos with nice backdrops.

And what do you where to formal night ??

Formal Night is typically during the first sea day. The daily Personal Navigator will remind you how to dress for dinner each night. ;) However, you may also confirm your specific days for formal night, semi-formal night, pirate night, etc., by calling DCL directly at (800) 951-3532.

You'll see a wide range of fashion choices during Formal Night. I've seen women wearing floor length gowns, cocktail dresses, pant suits, flowy skirts, casual maxi dresses, and sun dresses. I've seen men wearing tuxes, suits, shirt/tie/dress slacks, and even more 'relaxed' attire such as khaki/polo combos.

Formal Night offers a nice opportunity to have your family's portrait done onboard the ship. Some families coordinate their attire for professional photography. During our cruise on the Fantasy this past February, we saw a couple in wedding attire. As I said, it can range from super fancy to somewhat casual. It all depends on personal preference.

Enjoy a fabulous cruise! :)

Menus are posted outside the restaurants each day. If you don't like any of the offerings, you can always choose to eat elsewhere, ie... Room Service, (always tip) Cabanas or poolside fast foods.

I like this !! In our family, no one ever dresses up anymore, my teens like sweats & t-shirts....
This will be so nice to have good photos taken too
Thanks for the info
