Confused by new fast pass

Does the "old fashioned" paper fast pass still exist, or are the bracelets the only way to secure a fast pass? We'll be visiting MK this Sunday and want to visit Elsa and Anna, but all I keep reading is how fast pass holders have basically secured almost all the spots. Can you still go up to a machine and obtain an actual paper fast pass, or is this character meet and greet already pre booked by fast pass holders? If the paper FP does exist, is the machine by the meet and greet? I'm so confused :(

There are no more paper FPs. It's all done via magic bands and the 'my disney experience' app.
I hate to break the news to you but the chances of you seeing A&E without at least a 3 hour wait are well- about the chances of winning the lotto :(

No machine at the attractions. No paper FP anymore. You use your magic band or park admission to make FP reservations if you are making them day of in the park. If you currently have park tickets, then you can create an account at www.mydisneyexperience.com and link those park tickets to your profile. Then you can make FP+ reservations. Anna and Else are likely long gone by now as an option.

There is about a .01% chance you will be able to get a FP+ for Anna and Elsa for this weekend. What I would highly recommend is to arrive at the Magic Kingdom before park opening. Arrive at the gate no later than 8:15 so you can be towards the front of the crowd for park opening. Once you are admitted into the park, head straight down Main Street towards the castle as swiftly as you can (Disney says you can't run, but some people do) but you want to get there asap because a LOT of people will be heading that way, too. Once at the castle, they will lower the rope and you can go to Fairytale Hall (which is behind the castle and to the right of the carrousel.) You will be with a crowd, but if you move swiftly, you can attempt to be towards the front of it and will have a *relatively* shorter wait than if you waited and took your time getting back there after the park opens.

Also, MANY people have reported shorter waits for them in the afternoon (they have had posted times as long as 5 hours for standby) but numerous reports have said the wait can be as low as an hour to an hour and a half in the later afternoon, though keep in mind, A & E only meet until 5pm! Good luck!

No more paper fastpass. A&E fastpasses will be gone by now. If it's really important get there early at rope drop and head straight to the princesses. I mean get the lead out!!! :)

Can't say I'm feeling much Disney "magic" right about now :(
Thank you to those who replied, and especially to those of you who provided tips. We'll do our best, but guess I won't get my daughter too filled up on meeting them. Sounds like MK is becoming more of a let down for some kids (and parents) lately :(

See the links in my signature for a FP primer.
