I know it doesn't take much lol but can anyone please clear up this confusion for me, we have 2 trips booked, both of the outbound flights are as follows;

Tues 30th Oct VS075 Airbus 330-300 Manchester 11.15am - MCO 16.55

Fri 26th April VS075 Airbus 330-300 Manchester 11.00am - MCO 15.20

They seem to be the same aircraft so why is there an approx 1,1/2 hour time gap, is it anything to do with our clocks going back at the end of oct, haven't a clue how this works in the states! I know the new airbus takes longer but as said it is the same aircraft on both dates! :confused3

TIA, Debs x

When do you set your clocks back? Here in the U.S., we set them back the first weekend in November now. Only thing I can think of is you are on a different schedule.

The issue is that the time change happens at different times.

On 30 October, daylight savings time has ended in England (it ends on 28 October) but not in Florida (it ends on 4 November). So, Manchester is 4 hours ahead of Orlando.

On 26 April, daylight savings is in effect in both places. So, Manchester is 5 hours ahead of Orlando.

So, when the plane leaves Manchester in October it is 7:15am in Orlando. When the plane leaves Manchester in April it is 6am in Orlando. So, the April flight appears to be an hour shorter than the October flight - but it isn't.

Thank you for clearing that up for me, must try and remember to put our clocks back when we are there for the first wknd in nov as I wouldn't have known about that! :thumbsup2

Yes - I was checking the clocks timings yesterday as it affects our dates.

UK clocks go back 1 hour early hours of 28th Oct but US doen't until the week after - 4th November. Just for that week it's a 4hr not 5hr time difference.

Lol I was thinking it was 6 hours time difference, can never get my head around the time changes! :rotfl2:

It's also that different months take a bit longer on the plane If we went in may I would of been 9 hours there but we are going 30th oct and it takes 9.25 hours

also the route they fly can make a difference. Sometimes they fly straight across the atlantic and over bermuda and most times they fly down the east coast of USA..can't remember which one is quicker but think its the 'over bermuda' one..:)

I know the virgin jumbo is a lot quicker than the A330 airbus too, just a pity with our clocks going back before the USA ones do it will be an hour later when we get there! :(
