I have Poly GVC room only AAA rate of 2,007 with all taxes for 4 nights.

Poly is not available on the new code for my dates.

WL room is available for the code non concerg. So the package is 2326 with dining and 1934 w/o dining.

If I add tickets to compare a little better apples to apples...

Poly GVC would be 2910 concerg.
WL Courtyard would be 1934 no concerg.

I AM SO CONFUSED! I know it is all personal preference. But is that glass of wine in the evening and riding on the monorail really worth the $1,000 dollar difference?

HELP! My husband said, what ever you want to do blah blah blah. He is no help when my head is spinning out of control like the Tea Cups.

I imagine when I finally decide on the WL, the discount will no longer be available. I think the CM was puzzled that I did not switch.

If it was me I would use the $1K to do a tour or buy a very special item that I wanted.

As much as I want to stay at the Poly, I couldn't do it for $1000 more. You could do so much with that extra money.

I called back and it was not available :(

So I called back right away and tried another CM and it was available still!!

So we switched.

4 nights
WL Courtyard View
2A2C
5 day park hoppers with dining
$2,326.74

no insurance

I am sure I will regret this everytime I see the POLY or when the fireworks are shooting off from behind the trees.

KrisTx, I love the Poly. We are staying there this year in a LVCL. This year I found myself debateing numerous times this year if I should move us to a garden view or into a standard room. To be honest, the Poly is getting to be too expensive for our budget.

You are going to be staying at a wonderful resort. The area is so peaceful and filled with nature. Why don't you book dinner at Ohanas or Konas, plan it to finish eating before the fireworks. Go out on the beach, grab a swing or hamock and enjoy. That way you will get the best deal plus your wonderful evening of fireworks without being in the park. :)

That's true Angel16. I know this sounds odd, but I really try not to do the resort activities (perks) at the resort I am not staying at. KWIM? Like I think the beach to watch the fire works is something of a benefit for the people staying at the Poly. I know I am probably in a minority.

However, if I start having huge regrets, I might go visit the Poly :)

KrisTX - I just did the same thing for my 25th Wedding Anniversary trip in October.

Scenareo #1 - POFQ 4 nights - $517.25 total package ($129/night)

Scenareo #2 - Contemporary Tower Room MK View 4 nights - $1,552.00 ($388/night)

Tell me Contemporary wouldn't have been just magical -- but at what price? Almost $400 a night??? Our entire vacation will cost less than $1,552, including airfare.

I feel bad, I really wanted Contemporary, but my husband isn't working right now and let's face it - I have to be logical right? My husband did the same thing -- whatever makes you happy, blah, blah, blah and no help at all. I know he really loves POFQ so in a way I did it for him.

So KrisTX, I know how ya feel!

Pooh Friend, I hope you have a magical 25th anniversary :) You should get a free deluxe for a week for that accomplishment!

I definitely think you did the right thing, Kris. why don't you take a little of the money you saved and see if you can't book a fireworks cruise? :)
