Confused about WPE & WPCE

I only know from reading here a bit about them.

WPE is a counter service in Marketplace and it a great deal for the DDP. It is a lot of tasty food and great desserts.

WPCE is the counter service that is in West Side. I believe I've read conflicting reports about whether this spot takes DDP or not. The menus are very similar.

WPC is a table service that some love and some don't. The link from the Dis says they DO NOT recommend it. Hmmm. I don't think I've read a review in a while. WPC does accept DDP.

WPUpstairs is a higher end restaurant (read expensive). I don't believe it participates in the DDP so I honestly haven't paid it too much attention.

We will be trying WPE in Marketplace. Many of the photo reviews I've read look delish and I realllllllllllly love creme brulee so I'd go even if I just ordered that.

Where, exactly, is WPE in the Marketplace? It's on my list, but I can't seem to orient myself. Nothing new in that, though. :rotfl:

I can't understand why they would have the same two counter service places so close together. What's the point? I think we will be able to eat at WPE. The bar-b-que chicken quesedilla looked soooooo yummy!!!!!

We haven't eaten there in a few years, but if I remember correctly, it's not far from the Christmas store. I think. Eh, I probably shouldn't have responded, because now I'm second guessing myself! LOL:lmao:

From what I remember of DTD, I don't think they are that close. It is a pretty good walk from the end of West End to the end of Marketplace.

Thanks. It looks like it is almost attached to the one store that I never miss shopping at! I guess mind is always on The Christmas Store.

We loved the Cafe (downstairs/WestSide). Great food, gourmet california pizza, fantasic salads (warm spinach w/pears, goat cheese, walnuts). Really good california cuisine.

Now, it's not recommend by the DISboards because Kevin the podcast food critic had a horrible experience there due to seating a person in a wheelchair. If you listen to the podcast episode, it really has nothing to do with the food. The manager was rude to him, VERY rude.

WPE is absolutely wonderful and highly recommend by the DIS. Actually I went there due to Kevin's glowing reviews. We loved the food, casual seating and service so much that we changed our plans and went there twice in one week. I told DH specifically what to order :) Kevin recommended the roasted chicken with garlic mash potatoes OMG it was delicious! It was so good that a friend of mine called me from her vacation to ask what to order there then had to call me right back to say how good it is!

I've heard breakfast lunch and dinner are all wonderful!

It's very easy to get to IF you know where your going. It's in a small outcove behind the Christmas store. The best way to go is from the Marketplace bus stop, turn left past the Christmas store, then turn left again near the carousel. It's down at the end of a deadend section. You can sit outside too. My boys loved that part. They take the DDP. I think this is really a hidden gem! :thumbsup2

WPE is directly beside the kitchen goods store in DD... and it is our FAV CS in all of WDW!! It has fantastic food and its really really affordable (like $8-12) for a delicious, resturant quality, filling meal. Best value in the World for the quality you get!

They aren't close at all. You have to go through the entire old Pleasure Island complex to get from the Marketplace to the West Side. Downtown Disney is very big!

I haven't tried the others but I think we ate at WPE 3 times last trip. It was fantastic. I can't believe its CS. To us, it was without a doubt the best pizza we could find anywhere, on or offsite. We are again planning this for our arrival night but I'm sure we will get back there again some other time in our trip.
