Confused about time limit to book dining and fast passes

Years ago, we made many trips to Disney with our daughter, and then took an Hiatus for a couple years, last year returning as just us (Daughter graduated college).

Again we are staying at the Contemporary.

I think we could not have taken proper advantage of booking dining and fast passes.

We will be arriving the Sunday before Halloween, so here are my questions.

1. When will the opportunity for booking dining occur?
2. When can we book our fast passes?
3. What are the "new" fastpasses for Magic Kingdom, something about 6, (confused).
4. I read somewhere that the Magical express now picks you up 4 hours before your flight time.

You can book dining beginning 180 days out

You're on site so you book all your fast passes at your 60 day mark. You get 3 preselected fast passes per day. The 6 you're talking about is if you pay extra. That's at all the parks, not just magic kingdom.

If you were staying offsite then you book 30 days out.

1. ADR booking opens 180 days prior to check-in day. If staying on property you can book the length of stay up to 10 additional days.

2. @CAS239 answered. The "pay extra" is only for Club Level.

4. If you're international it's always been 4 hours. If you're domestic, I believe that they moved it back to 3 after the holidays - however, MCO is I believe still under construction so there may be times that even the 3 hours is tight.

Hi! You haven't missed the boat on making your dining reservations OR fastpasses, so no worries there! Dining reservations can be made at 180 days out so for you, if you're arriving 10/28, will be 5/1. Fastpasses can be made at 60 days out so 8/29. You can do both onlilne - have you set up a My Disney Experience account?

ME was picking folks up 4 hours prior to their flight time for a short period of time around the holidays but right now is back to 3 hours prior As @CAS239 said above, you get to pre-book 3 FP's per day for one park; the 6 is something available to club level guests right now at a price.

Hi there.

1) Dining can be booked beginning 180 days from your check-in date, so 5/1/2018 in your case.

2) FPs can be booked beginning 60 days from your check-in date, so 8/29/2018 in your case.

3) I'm assuming you are thinking about the current Club Level Trial Program for which allows CL guests to purchase three additional FPs per day, over their regular three FPs. I can point you in the direction of more info on this if needed.

4) Magical Express did switch to a four hour pickup window around the holidays, but it is back to approx. three hours now for domestic flights, as it was before.

Also, you can book your FP at 7amEST the day your 60-day window opens.

Now I know why we did not get some of our old dining venues, because we booked them at the 60 day mark with fast passes.

Now I know better.
