Confused about scooter and FP+

I've read the FAQs and searched for answers, but I'm still a little confused. Grandma and grandpa will be joining us for 2 days on our upcoming trip. Grandma will be using a scooter. She can walk but can't do stairs.

She really wants to go on Splash Mountain. If I make a FP+ for it will they direct us right on through or will we still need to get a wheelchair return time?

Besides being in a scooter we'll also need to get her a DAS pass for other issues. I'm familiar with DAS since we used it last year with our son. Today is my 60 days out for FP+ and I'm getting a little overwhelmed trying to figure this all out.

Our DS is in a wheelchair. They just let us get in the fastpass + line when the window opened. You follow the que til you get to the steps and there is a CM at a "rope" that lets you through to bypass the steps.

Just to add, you won't get a DAS if the only problem is that your relative can't do stairs. Incidentally, we've done Splash Mountain with a scooter and a FP. You will basically go in the exit - but there are still a few steps to negotiate.

I've read the discussion, but I'm not clear on something. Can you take a scooter IN the line? I didn't know they would let you do that. Is this true for other attractions? I know some you have to transfer to a manual wheelchair, but where do you do it?

I've never been to WDW before and need a scooter to get around. I can't stand long enough to wait in the lines, so am wondering for that reason. Thanks.

with all due respect, I think that explanation is a bit misleading. You enter the attraction through the normal queue entrance and stay the path until just before the stairs. At that point, you will be pulled off and rerouted being taken to the exit area to board. The only steps to negotiate are getting in and out of the ride vehicle.

Most lines are ECV friendly but there are a few that will require you to transfer to a WC for that particular attraction. A few of those attractions that immediately come to mind are Space Mtn, Buzz Lightyear, PotC, Peter Pan... I know there are others but these are the ones I immediately think of.

When you have to transfer to a wheelchair, do the CM's have them available for you? It seems they would be limited and you'd have to wait?

They have them there at the attraction available for you to transfer to. I have never encountered a situation where there wasn't one available and I had to wait. They have always had very ample supplies.

Thanks :goodvibes I do realize that Grandma wouldn't otherwise qualify for a DAS if she only needed a wheelchair, but she has other issues too.
